Chapter 8 - Pure Intentions

Start from the beginning

Cameron and I walked out together and back to the room without a word. Everyone was lounging or doing something completely unproductive.

"Plan?" Bonnie turned her head to the side from the bed.

"We wait until night. And if we're lucky, the bar which the door is being guarded will hopefully be closed. If not then we still go in but cautiously."

Jackson grinned. "What're we all doin' until then?"

I shrugged. "How about food? I know you're all still tired from the past few days so lets spend only today," I emphasised. "Relaxing. And then tonight we go for the door."

"Deal." Jack said shooting up from his seat. "Where is the food?"

I placed the t-shirts on the bed by Bonnie's feet with a laugh. "There's a place down the street."

"So after this... Talk... With Cameron, you're on speaking terms?"

I took a sip of my bitter coffee and leaned back in my chair. "Yes."

Bonnie raised a brow. "So you've forgiven him?"

"I didn't say that now, did I?"

"You're confusing me."

I glanced up into the morning suns. "I told the man I'd consider it."

She rolled her eyes. "Mmhm."

"What else do you want me to do?" I looked to the table a few feet away from us where Kim and Jackson laughed and talked in hushed tones.

"Stop over thinking." She said after a bite of toast.

I smiled at her.

"Stop smiling too, it's freaking me out."

"I can't help it. You're making me smile." I winked. "Where is Cameron anyhow?"

"He's inside getting food. How are you anyway?"

"Me? I'm better, I suppose."

"Have you acknowledged the fact you could be seeing him?"

My heart squeezed at the thought. "You know what? I haven't."

"Why?"

"Because I know it's not going to be easy getting to him. It's going to be hard and painful. I mean, what's love without war, right?"

Bonnie smiled warmly at me. "I'm glad you're talking about it."

"Well, keeping it locked away for it to fester and mold won't do any good, will it?" I grinned at her again before directing my gaze to an abnormally young woman staring at me. She blinked and turned away quickly, her cheeks tinting pink and her sea blue eyes frantically looking for something to do on her half empty table.

I narrowed my gaze curiously at the young soul and listened to her mind...

'...Is it? It has to be... My Goodness it is...'

"One minute, Bon." I stood and the girl's thoughts grew fearful.

"What're you doing?" She asked but I ignored her to walk to the girls table.

She stared up at me with frightened eyes but I smiled. "Hello,"

Her heart beat was so frantic it almost made me feel bad for coming over. She was very, very young. Younger than I thought.

"I hear you, you know."

"I know." She said shakily in our first language. I looked at her pale blonde hair and wondered what she was doing in this world. "A-are you...?"
