"I cannot believe that we're going to Kentucky," I smile brightly as Emily drives down the winding road, glancing at me every so often.
Her eyes are more sparkly than normal. She seems nervous but excited...and I'm really starting to wonder what's up.
Emily doesn't just decide things on a whim. There's a reason we're going home to Kentucky for Christmas. I want to be with my family, but Emily seemed so ecstatic that I didn't want to upset her.
Plus, we've never spent a Christmas together.
"Believe it Princess," she grabs my hand off of my lap and holds it there, making me smile down at our interlocked fingers.
"Hear that babies? You're going to see where Daddy's from," I whisper with excitement lacing my words.
Emily grins over at me, "Daddy, huh?" My lips curl blissfully as a chuckle escapes me, "don't get ahead of yourself Fields."
She smiles and gasps, "hell yes." She turns up the volume on the radio and starts singing loudly, "When it comes, to you, there's no crime. Let's take both of our souls. And in-ter-twine!"
I giggle as she turns to me, singing with passion in her eyes but a joking smile on her lips, holding an invisible microphone.
I bite my lip as I stare at her dancing and singing and think about how lucky I am.
We've only known each other for about 10 months? Maybe less? But our connection is just so strong.
Our love is so unbreakable. For heaven sakes, not even amnesia stopped us from being together. If Emily and I can survive gang wars and gunshot wounds and getting branded, then I'm pretty sure we can survive anything.
I want to be with Emily for the rest of my life.
I want to marry her.
I'm having her babies. We're ready. We have been ready. I know it. I can feel it.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I ask after another 4 hours of driving. We're about 10 minutes from Sophia's house but we're 5 minutes from where we're really going.
Alison sighs, looking out the window at the falling snow and the Christmas lights.
"Just thinking...about what everyone back in Rosewood is doing."
I smile to myself but don't let her see.
What Alison doesn't know is that everyone flew down here. They're already at the house, setting up for Christmas and hopefully to celebrate Alison and I's engagement.
Their plane landed about 5 hours ago and we've been driving for 9.
"Christmas preparation?" I suggest and she nods, "my Dad would always take me to cut down the tree..."
I look in my mirrors and bite my lip, grabbing her hand again, "your Dad is an asshole."
She scoffs, "nice reassuring Em." Her eyes roll and I immediately panic, "no! I... Als, look. I'm sorry that your dad left but you guys can do way better. You have Aric now, right?"
She smiles gently, "yeah, I know. You're right. It's just...weird. Change, you know?"
I glance at her stomach and chuckle, "oh I know alright." Ali plays with my fingers and smiles up at me beamingly, "I can't believe we're having kids."
"You're telling me," I joke and grin over at her as we come to a stop. She looks out the window and smiles lightly, "Emmy, where are we?"
I get out of the car and go around to her door, opening it and holding my hand out, "you'll see."
She smirks and squints her eyes, furrowing her brows, "what are you up to Emily Fields?"
"Just trust me babe."
Once she takes my hand I walk her through the bushes and we get to a clearing. Her jaw drops as she gasps in surprise. "Emily."
There are fairy lights hanging off of the trees and some hang down with pictures of Alison and I hanging off of them.
She looks at each and every picture, "this is beautiful...how did you do this?"
She wades through the snow and smiles at everything like a little kid on Christmas morning.
She walks over to the tree we carved our initials in and where Aric carved his and Jessica's. I am behind her but I kneel down, pulling the small black box out of my pocket.
"Emily I have no words for this...this is just so gorgeous and-" when she turns around, she sees me immediately.
Her eyes widen and glisten in the light. Her body goes stiff as her hands rest on her chest, over her heart. It's almost as if her breathing comes to a stop when no air comes out of her lips.
My hands shake nervously but I hold the box steady, "ever since I first met you I knew you were different. I hated you at the time but only because of my love for Sophia and how I believed you to be this devil that caused her emotional pain. But then I got to meet you and you did something unimaginable. You tricked me into kissing you."
Ali giggles, shaking her head as tears drip down her delicate cheeks.
I take a deep breath and continue, "ever since that first kiss, I started falling for you. I couldn't stop it. I didn't want it to happen but it just did. You knew that the asshole side of me was just a facade to cover up my own issues and insecurities. You saw through me and you saved me. You never gave up on me...and I can't thank you enough for that because Alison I promise you that I have never felt this much love for one person before. You're my entire world and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We have two kids on the way and knowing us, more eventually."
More giggles, some sobbing.
"You are the love of my life, Ali...so would you do me the honor of taking my hand in marriage...will you marry me?" I open the box to reveal Sophia's ring and Alison covers her mouth with her hand, sobbing louder than before.
She is crying so loud that she barely manages to get the "yes" out.
"Yes?" I ask and she doesn't speak, just nods as she opens her arms, begging me to hug her. I smile and hug her tight but pull away to slide the ring on. She sobs and smiles, "I love you so much."
I nod happily, "I love you too Princess."
She hugs me again, only this time there's so much emotion in it. So much passion. I can't help but start to cry myself. "I love you I love you I love you I love you," I repeat over and over again.
Alison nods and hugs me tighter, kissing my neck repeatedly, "I love you so fucking much Emily Fields."
We sit and watch the snow fall for about an hour, and then I suggest we get to Sophia's house, and once she walks in, everyone is waiting and Alison stares at them in shock, then looks at me.
"She said yes!" I shout and they all break into cheers and celebration. The clock hits midnight and I grab Alison, kissing her.
"Merry Christmas fiancée."
