The sound of the alarm I found in the closet woke me. I had set the alarm early to get ready and tell the team I would be out. I jumped out of bed and got ready for work. I dressed in the stuff M'Gann gave me and pulled my hair into a tight pony tail. I jogged to the kitchen and made myself a bowl of cereal and ate.

"Artemis, what did you do to your hair?" I turned around and Night Wing walked in.

"I thought you were Artemis for a second, but with dyed hair." He said. "Have you seen White Raven?"

"No..." I answered. "Why did you think I was Artemis, I don't look like her."

"Well Artemis used to put her hair up and- Never mind." He said with a shake of his head. "And if you see White Raven, tell her I need her."

"Will do." I said. I finished breakfast and went searching for one of the team members, I forgot to tell Night Wing. Artemis was practicing with Wally.

"Hey, I'm going out, can I borrow your bike?" I asked.

"Where are you going?" Artemis asked.

"Yeah sure." He tossed the keys to me. I caught them.

"Where are you going?" Artemis asked again.

"Out, why?" I asked. "I'll be out for a few hours, tell Night Wing for me."

"Out where?" Artemis asked.

"Somewhere, don't worry. It's not like I am going on a super undercover mission under water with a old friend that was thought to be a bad guy working for his slash her dad."

"Alright, alright." Artemis said. With a smirk I walked into the garage, started up Wally's bike and rode off to the animal shelter.

"Ready for your first day?" The manager asked.

"Oh yeah." I replied.

"You will be assigned two dogs to watch over." She said leading me outside where dogs were playing. "Shadow," She pointed at what looked to be a four month old black and white pit-bull pup. "And Robin." She pointed to another dog, a German Shepard Husky mix.

"Robin like the hero?" I asked. The manager chuckled and nodded. "He used to belong to a family with a ten year old boy, who of course loved heroes." I nodded.

"Ready to meet them?" She asked.

"Yes!" I exclaimed.

"Shadow, Robin!" She called. The two looked around and spotted us and bounded over.

"Sit." They both sat. "You'll just need to try to find them a foster home and hopefully try to get them a forever home. The poor guys have been needing a foster home for some time now."

"I can foster them." I blurted out. Oops.

"Really?" She asked. "That would be wonderful."

"Yeah, my roommates won't mind." I answered.

"Since you work here, we can supply you dog food and one or two toys." She said.

A few hours later I scooped up the little pups, placed them in a basket on Wally's bike and slowly rode back to the cave.

"I brought a gift!" I shouted.
