This makes me want to cry.
Cry because of the lives lost, the 4,000 people lynched in the United State's past that haven't had much of a voice in the media, if any.
I think this memorial is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece that will give honour where it is due. Ignorance is bred in the unknowing.
There are those right now claiming that this piece shouldn't be created because others are taking down Civil War Confederacy memorials, and I think it's disgusting of those people to make that comparison.
It should be completed by 2018, and I hope to visit it one day soon.
