Chapter 2: Girls Day and an Unpleasant Confrontation

Start from the beginning

He got his hands free from my grip and grabbed my waist. He flipped us over so I was underneath him again. I tried squirming away, but he tightened his hands around my waist.

He grinned at me. "Say it."

I shook my head, preparing to flip us over again. "No way."

Liam opened his mouth to say something, but was stopped by a pillow hitting his head.

"Would you get off Hayley and let her get up?" came Brooke's voice.

Liam growled, and I smiled up at him.

"I win," I said happily. "Now you heard Brooke. Get off the birthday girl."

Liam glowered at me, but got up. "I was in the middle of something," he growled at Brooke.

"I'm sorry for interrupting your very important moment with Hayley, but I do have plans today that involve her," Brooke said.

"Dear god, what are they?" I asked, sitting up, suddenly horrified.

Brooke smiled deviously. "You'll find out when we get there."

I groaned, laying back down. "This isn't going to be good."

"Shut up," Brooke said. "Go get in the shower. We have a long day ahead of us, birthday girl."

Grumbling and cursing, I walked upstairs to my room.

"Don't take too long; I need hot water!" Liam called after me.

"You'll get what you get!" I called down and shut my bedroom door.

I changed out of my clothes and got in my shower. I let the warm water roll down my back, and I took my time washing my hair and body just to annoy Liam. I shaved my legs and washed my face twice, even though I have no acne. You can never be too careful.

I turned off the water and got out. I dried off and wrapped a towel around my hair and body as I walked into my room. I stared at my wardrobe, frowning, arms folded across my chest.

"What to wear, what to wear," I muttered to myself.

"Hurry up Hayley!" Brooke said, knocking on my door.

"I'll be down in a half!" I called.

"Okay, just be ready for a lot of walking," Brooke said.

I groaned, knowing that must mean we're going to the mall. Brooke loves shopping, whereas I like sitting on the couch watching Netflix. Brooke is the girly girl in our friendship, and I'm the tomboy. The best duos are those two.

Knowing I would be under Brooke's control today, I picked out a pair of jean shorts and a red tank-top with a low v-neck along with my black and white converse. I dried my hair quickly and let it lay down naturally, not feeling doing much with it today. I also added a gold necklace with my outfit to make it not look as casual, along with drawing some attention away from all the skin. After all, I am a modest girl.

I walked downstairs and saw Brooke sitting at the counter with Liam, who was cooking pancakes. Liam was in shorts and a faded t-shirt, which showed off his abs and muscles. Not that I was looking or anything.

Brooke was dressed in faded jean shorts, a purple crop top that said Love in shiny silver letters, purple sandals, and a silver chain necklace. Her hair was tied back in a pony tail, which meant she was planning on getting her hair done. She only ever wears her hair in a pony tail when she plans on doing something with her hair.

Liam smiled when he saw me, and I sat down next to Brooke. "Do I have any say in what we do today?" I asked hopefully.

"Nope," Brooke said, popping the 'p'.
