We were gone for just about a week when all was said and done. Turns out Saladin needed help facing an ancient plague known as SIVA. The House of Devils had unearthed it and used it to alter their weapons and bodies. They had taken a bite out of the wall and used the metal to make themselves much more powerful. SIVA was what caused the Iron Lords to fall for their final time. We brought rest to their spirits and took weight off of Saladins shoulders. We had gotten ourselves some gear as well, all four of us had obtained the Days of Iron armor, I fell in love with the fire ornaments on those and stuck with that for my look. Noah and Nagisa found Nagisas old teammate and they all took care of the Trials of Osiris, obtaining all of that gear and it's ornaments, and Vlad continued to represent the faction of Dead Orbit. During our campaign against the Fallen Specialists, we had made several weapons, some new and some reborn. We even made a new friend, but well get to him in the moment.
Among those reborn were the Thorn, the Khvostov, and my favorite of all: The Gjallarhorn. The Khvostov became a quick favorite to me because of the fact I could change its firing style on the fly, as well as the firing speed. Some of the new weapons we found were the Trespasser, Nemesis Star, and many others that we found in the Raid. But there is one that Noah seemed to love the most. Outbreak Prime. A sweet pulse rifle that releases a SIVA swarm when you obtain a precision kill, as well as if your target gets hit repeatedly by the weapon will release a small swarm that attacks other enemies nearby.
I still stick to my Ace of Spades for a majority of my time in the field, but when I need a weapon to be able to adapt on the fly I go with the Khvostov. My Iron Gjallarhorn has seen as much action as possible since it was finished, a monument to the fallen Iron Lords.
Noah hasn't put down Outbreak Prime since we got it. I think hes fallen in love with it (ha, Fallen). Nagisa has kept her Harrowed Zaouli's Bane, but shes been switching out her Defiance of Yasmin for the Trespasser, a sidearm used by Shiro (the Vanguard Scout in the Iron Temple) in the field that shoots in bursts. Vlad started using the Nemesis Star, a heavy machine gun that starts with a high rate of fire burst, but then slows down as you hold the trigger. Even though we changed weapons, we kept our tactics, we were an unstoppable force, teamed with Ethan and the one friend we made, we went into the Plaguelands to take on Aksis. It took us almost a full twenty-four hours of firefights, blood, sweat, and ammo to take them down. But we finally did.
I stopped by Sarah too, left her a Dust crystal canister with a chunk of gravity dust in it. Her favorite gem was the Amethyst, so I think she would've liked the purple hue of the gravity. Figured she wouldve wanted a souvenir from Remnant too. Also brought her up to speed on what had been happening, and what we were planning on doing with the remains of our first year at Beacon.
Back to our new friend. When we first got back to Earth, Saladin wanted us to go up to an observatory in the mountains. Myself, Vlad, and Noah went up. Nagisa had to stay back and help settle a dispute amongst fighters in the Crucible. Shaxx was the one who requested her, said she was the only one with the smooth talking to settle them down. Anyway, we were heading up the mountain, and I couldnt shake the feeling we were being watched. The snow was messing with our motion trackers so we just turned them off. We had just gotten onto a gondola when we saw a Fallen flare be sent up. I took a position on the left side, Noah on the right, and Vlad was up the center. First they came from the right, so I helped Noah. Then they were on the left, so he helped me. Finally they were on the right again, unexpectedly a fallen skiff had blown a hole in the side of our tiny metal box. We jumped out and made our trek up the mountain on foot.
We had just made it to the point where the gondola would have stopped, if it had not been shot and stuck in the open, when we had been ambushed by some stealth Fallen. Several Vandals dropped down near us, with no motion trackers we had a tough time dealing with them. We had just dispatched the last one when I heard another, but didn't know where he was. With my hand cannon drawn, I was looking left and right for the enemy. I soon heard a sniper fire a round towards me, the bullet flew over my right shoulder. I ducked and turned to see a Fallen Stealth Captain hit the ground without a head. I then turned to see where the shot had come from, but didn't see any sight glares in the snow. I sighed and we kept moving forward.
