Colby's POV

I felt numb but cold.

I was shocked and speechless.

She was alive..

And she was coming back to LA.

I walked out of the police station and across the street to where the car was parked.

I open the door and sit down.

Finding the keys from my pocket and starting up the ignition.

Sam had been letting me use his car recently.

I couldn't build up the courage to buy a new one.

Not after what happened..

I blare music throughout the car and roll down the windows.

Letting the sound batter against my chest.

I stop at a red light and grow anxious.

If I wasn't moving or doing something, then all I could think about was her.

Traffic slowly drove by as the light still flashed red.

A taxi pulled up beside me, now watching just like I was.

I needed a distraction.

I looked over at the taxi.

Reading the number for the company on the side of the car.

The advertisement for Taco Bell that was displayed on top.

The back passenger window that was cracked open slightly.

Looking through the window.

My heart jumped.

Stopped even.

Sitting in the back seat.

Fiddling with her hands.

Her head pressed up against the back of the chair.

Breathing rapidly.

It was Ronnie.

My Ronnie.

My girl..

She looked like she had been crying.

I wish I could hug her.

I hadn't seen her in months.

I missed her so much.

I never even realised that I was crying until a tear dropped onto the gear stick.

I switched off the music.

Sitting in complete silence, just watching her.

I should say something..

But I was too afraid.

Too afraid to talk to the woman I love.

The one I love madly.

It was unbearable without her.

I hadn't even talked to her but just looked at her for a moment and I was already feeling relief.

Like the past few months I was carrying around a really heavy weight and finally..

My hands let go.

The pain floated away and the tears dried into a smile.

The light turned Amber.

The light turned Green and the taxi sped off.

I couldn't wait much longer.

I hit the gas, sending the car plummeting forward.

Catching up with the taxi.

Slowly edging up on the side.

I accelerated and pulled up at a halt in front of the car.

Causing the taxi to stop.

Blocking the path.

Flinging the car door open and standing still.

I didn't think much about what I was going to do after I performed some serious fast and furious bullshit.

The taxi man didn't deserve this.

The back door open.

The click of the handle was the only thing to be heard.

The only thing I wanted to hear,

"Colby?"
