CHAPTER 5

(A Few Months Later)

Lane':

The wedding is weeks away and I'm so happy. I can't stop smiling because I'm filled with joy. My family is coming into town and I'm dying to taste my grandmothers famous peach cake. She makes it just right.

My dad wants to meet Mah'leek so bad because I talk about him too much and my mom already loves him. He says he wants to see the man who stole his daughters heart.

Right now Mah'Leek and I are actually outside the mall drinking lemonade and waiting for Mah'Lissa and Derrick to come. They are always late to everything nowadays. I guess it's because they are busy all the time getting busy.

As so I heard; Mah'Leek told me the reason Mah'Lissa didn't open the door for me that one time was because she and him were freaking off (lol). Just thinking about it is making me giggle. I love my fam!

Taking another sip from my lemonade, I looked over the rim of my shades and then I see Mah'Lissa and Derrick approaching us. But there was something strange about her. She walked funny and she seem to have gained a little weight.

I guess with her staying in the house most days she slacked off on her exercise. But the closer she walked the more my eyes bulged. I know I haven't seen her in a while but OMG she looked PREGNANT!!!.... I screamed and ran to her like a wild animal. I was too excited.

Mah'Lissa:

Yep, I'm 4 months pregnant. I can't believe it myself. Mah'Leek nor Lane' knew about my pregnancy because as you know I'm still under lock and key by my husband Derrick. He didn't even want me to attend the wedding at all.

He just wants me home and all to himself. He even told me to make up a few stories to Lane' and cancel a lot of plans with her but thank God my brother called his phone and told him we better attend the wedding.

Derrick changed his mind after that. I guess he did not want to arouse Mah'Leeks suspicions. And honestly it would look weird if Mah'Leeks best man and Lane's maide of honour wasn't there.

We decided to meet at the mall to do a little shopping for the dresses, tuxedos and a few other last minute things for the wedding. When I hopped out the car and saw my brothers face I wanted to cry. I missed him so much and I hope he wasn't mad at me from the last time we saw one another.

I was really mean and rude to him because I didn't want him to find out. He looked at me with his mouth wide open in shock and Lane' and I ran into each others arms and embraced each other.

"AAAHHHH!!!! MAH'LISSA... I MISS YOU GIRL!... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" Lane' said to me while rubbing at my little pudgy belly bump.

I smiled back at her "I know right, It's been awhile."

I hugged and kissed my brother and told him I loved him. He begun to play fight with me and said he understood now why I was so moody; Then him and Derrick walked off into the male department of the mall while me and Lane' headed over to the female department to look for dresses and shoes.

I felt so fat and ugly and every shoe I put on made my feet hurt or look like it was swollen. Lane' tried her best to cheer me up. She even gave me some chocolate candy from her purse because she said it looked like I was about to cry.

I laughed so hard at her because she was treating me like a baby. I asked her was she and my brother planning on having a baby after the wedding and she smiled at me and said yes.

Lane':

Me and Mah'Lissa had a nice time talking and shopping. We had a few different dresses in our hands that we wanted to try on so we made our way over to the dressing rooms. Her little pregnant self wobbled into one room and I went into another.
