Chapter 12: Finding Libby

506 20 9

Abandoned Warehouse in Lincoln, Nebraska

Eliza drew her Sword from her sheath as she slowly crept towards the warehouse, staring up at the crumbling building and gulping. It had been years since she last saw it but she didn't remember it being this damaged. Then again, she and Nadia had been in quite a rush to leave and find the Winchesters.

Letting out a shaky breath, Eliza pulled open the heavy metal doors and pushed back a wince at the loud squeal the door released. If Nadia couldn't sense her before then she could now. A scream erupted from one of the corridors that stared back at the blonde demon. The scream sent shivers down her spine and she recognized it immediately: Libby.

"You bitch!" she heard the redhead screech, gasping for breath just before another scream pierced the air. She couldn't even imagine the pain that Nadia had put her through.

"Just tell me how to get into the warded Bunker and I'll let you live," Nadia said in a sickly sweet voice. Eliza's breath hitched in her throat. The wardings kept Nadia out...for now. If she found a way in then all three of them were as good as dead.

"Torture me all you want, Nadia. I'll never betray the Winchesters," Libby hissed through gritted teeth. Eliza slowly approached the corridor where her voice drifted out the strongest and tightened her grip on the hilt of her Sword.

"Libby, you can't hold out much longer."

"Watch me." Another scream rang out and Eliza winced, ducking her head down at the pounding sensation in her skull. She wasn't sure if it was from Libby's scream or a spell Nadia had cast, but when she looked up she found her mother staring straight back at her. Eliza's green eyes widened and her throat dried out.

"Elizabeth," Nadia greeted, pulling her dagger from Libby's body. Libby hung her head and started to pant, letting her eyes flutter closed as the wounds slowly healed. She paid no mind to Nadia and Eliza, only focusing on the diminishing pain. It was the only thing that let her know she was still alive. It was the only thing that gave her hope. "I knew it was only a matter of time before you found me."

Eliza straightened her posture and swung her Sword around in her hand. Her gaze fell to Nadia's dagger before rising back up to her vessel's cold brown eyes. "I had help." Nadia arched an eyebrow, an amused smirk tugging at her lips.

"The Winchesters? I'd hardly call them help, sweetheart," Nadia replied with a soft chuckle. "I haven't heard much from them. They're too focused on taking down Abaddon with that old hunk of bone. Have they found it yet?" Eliza stayed silent and narrowed her eyes at her mother. Nadia let out a sigh and nodded, glancing away. "Yes, you're here to merge with Libby. I know." Libby's head snapped up at her name and she followed Nadia's gaze with wide eyes.

"Elizabeth," the redhead choked out in fear. Eliza glanced towards the archangel and sent her a reassuring smile before looking back to Nadia. "What are you doing here?"

"My job," Eliza said simply as she started to approach her mother. Nadia could see the determination in Eliza's eyes. It brought a smirk to her lips and her hand shot up and grabbed Eliza's wrist just as she swung the Sword at her mother.

"You really don't want to do this, Elizabeth."

"Oh, but I do."

"Why? So you can lose your precious Sammy? I let you go, Elizabeth. It's best if it stays that way," Nadia growled. Libby watched in confusion and fear, desperately tugging at her chains. "You love him and now there's nothing standing in the way. No attraction to Dean; no morals; no threats. I gave you what I wanted so why would you go and ruin that?" Eliza scoffed and shook her head.
