Listening and Learning

I like to learn something every single day. Writers, in general, have a very wide (if sometimes shallow) pool of knowledge. We have an everlasting curiosity about the world and the people, animals and events in it. We gather tales so that we can tell stories. You readers have the kindness to listen to them, and we appreciate that!

So I never stop learning. I never stop asking questions, and I'm interested in everything all the time. Even more so any subject that is of particular importance to me, such as spirituality. Because of that my personal beliefs have continued to evolve. There are aspects of Buddhism that interest me and that I appreciate. Aspects of Hinduism, Shintoism, the many forms of Shamanism, and many other religions that speak to me. The more I learn about different religions the more I believe that underneath it all, they are very similar.

We all have much to teach each other, and to teach our young people. We all have much to learn. A wise man once said that the truly smart person is smart enough to know that there is much he does not know.

But do not let your continuing exploration of beliefs confuse you. The end arbitrator for each of us is that small voice within. If we can eliminate all the daily clutter of bills, meals, and obligations for a period of time we will be able to hear the voice of our heart. And your heart knows what is right for you. Maybe it is Paganism. Maybe something else. Perhaps that nebulous thing we call "spiritual but not religious" these days.

Some people hear that voice within loud and clear. Others may have to learn to listen through meditation or quiet contemplation. But I believe that almost all of us know, deep within ourselves, what is right for us.

I hope you have enjoyed sharing my journey, and the things I have learned through it. If I am very blessed, then perhaps I have given you something that will help you, or inspire you on your own journey.

Blessedbe and thank you for spending some time with me
