We locked eyes and he undressed me with his eyes. I felt myself blush and look downwards. Daisy looks at me and says, "Someone is in love!" I hit her back and say, "Be quiet. Otherwise, he'll grab me and ask to dance with me onstage!" Daisy replies back to me, "He sings Voltaire songs. Remember the guy who likes to pretend he's a vampire? He sings two songs and for the second one, he grabs a girl from the audience so maybe, he'll choose you!" She snickered. I hid my face in embarrassment. Suddenly, I could hear the shrieking of violins. Kieran grabbed a microphone and started singing, "When the Devil is too busy and death's a bit too much they call on me by name, you see for my special touch. To the gentlemen, I'm Miss Fortune; To the ladies, I'm Sir Prize but call me by any name. Anyway, it's all the same. I'm the fly in your soup, I'm the pebble in your shoe, I'm the pea beneath your bed, I'm a bump on every head, I'm the peel on which you slip, I'm a pin in every hip, I'm the thorn in your side makes you wriggle and writhe. And it's so easy when you're evil. This is the life, you see the Devil tips his hat to me. I do it all because I'm evil. And I do it all for free your tears are all the pay I'll ever need." The crowd was cheering. I knew the song wasn't over and he kept looking at me. I was also lusting after him. He was so handsome and I wanted to jump in his arms. Kieran continued to sing."While there's children to make sad while there's candy to be had, while there's pockets left to pick, while there's grannies left to trip down the stairs. I'll be there, I'll be waiting round the corner. It's a game, I'm glad I'm in it. 'Cause there's one born every minute and it's so easy when you're evil. This is the life, you see the Devil tips his hat to me. I do it all because I'm evil and I do it all for free, your tears are all the pay I'll ever need" Kieran still had his eyes on me. My heart was still beating fast."I pledge my allegiance, to all things dark and I promise on my damned soul to do as I am told, Lord Beelzebub has never seen a soldier quite like me. Not only does his job, but does it happily. I'm the fear that keeps you awake, I'm the shadows on the wall, I'm the monsters they become, I'm the nightmare in your skull, I'm a dagger in your back. An extra turn on the rack. I'm the quivering of your heart a stabbing pain, a sudden start. And it's so easy when you're evil. This is the life, you see the Devil tips his hat to me. I do it all because I'm evil and I do it all for free. Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need and I do it all for free. Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need." I was interrupted from my thoughts when Daisy brought me some grogg. "Ugh! This tastes like foam!" I scream. Daisy giggles at me and says, "Just drink it! It's beer." I turn around and the song ended. The crowd is murmuring and stunned. Kieran just disappeared. I suddenly feel a coldness behind me, enwrapping all around me. I turn and there's Kieran, with a smirk that flashed his sharp fangs. No words came from me and he whispered to me, "My beautiful girl." His hands me a red rose and kisses my hand. The crowd turns their attention to us and Kieran announces, "My followers! I have found my Bride. My eternal love!" The crowd cheers and Daisy looks to me and says, "Uh-oh. Get ready to lose it to a vampire!" I hit her on the shoulder and said, "Stop it! You need to help-Daisy!" Kieran carried me to the stage and set me on a throne covered with black roses and skulls. I knew this was an act but it felt so real. His 'love' was starting to show through. "For my last song, this is for my goddess that sits on this very throne. What's your name, my Queen?" Kieran asks. I stuttered and finally said, "M-Maria." Kieran walks towards me and lifts my face upwards. My heart is racing so fast. He grabs me and plants a kiss on my lips. The crowd cheers and Daisy is screaming loudly. My face is turning red. Kieran lets me go and sits me down back on the throne. The strumming of an acoustic guitar and shrieking violins boomed and then Kieran sang. "The day is the wife whom I elude. The one to whom I should be right. Although forewarned by peers and kin I always get into the night. Mother always warned me such being a nocturnal soul. Besides just being simply strange spawns from some illness of the mind. 'Cause the night, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me! She sways in her velvet dress and pulls me towards her in the dark. While the others rest, while the others rest, while the others rest." I am suddenly dragged off stage by a woman in a purple renaissance dress, who hands me a black wedding dress. "Quickly! Put in on, child!" I take my green dress off and place on the black dress. I am again pushed back on the stage and Kieran is singing the next verse. "Heed the call the time has come for all you children of the night. Gather 'round like suckling dogs, Mother's come, she is the night. Come with me to the other side! Make the girl in black your bride! 'Cause the night, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me! She sways in her velvet dress and pulls me towards her in the dark. While the others rest, while the others rest, while the others rest!" Then the bridge of the song was the guitar and violins. Kieran pulled me close and started dancing with me. He and I swayed with the music. Kieran twirled me like a spinning top and my dress flowed through the wind. The world was becoming dizzy and I fell into his muscular arms. He smiled and continued singing, "It just seems very strange to me that her quiet lonely streets and draped in all her mystery; could be so sweet and comforting. 'Cause the night, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me, she calls me! She sways in her velvet dress and pulls me towards her in the dark. While the others rest, while the others rest, while the others rest!" Kieran again kissed me and dipped me. My heart was racing again and the crowd roared with cheers and whistling. "Come home with me, my beautiful girl" Kieran whispered in his Romanian accent. His lips were kissing my neck, making me moan softly. "I-I-I can't." I answered back. "I need to go home, Mr. Morningstar." The crowd was leaving and Daisy was waving at me to leave already. His grip became tight and he held me close to him as I tried to walk away. I placed my hands on his muscular and defined chest. "No! You'll come with me and be mine. I know we just met but I am drawn to you. I must have you for myself." HIs fangs were bared and he began to nibble on my neck. I became weak in his arms and I shuddered softly. "Please, don't!" I screamed. I quickly backed away and said, "Thank you for including me but I don't know you. I can't just be with you on a whim. Please forgive me, Kieran." I tiptoed to him and kissed him on the cheek. I gathered my green dress and walked away from the stage and waved at him. I would regret that single wave and should have submitted to him. The nightmare that ensued would not have happened.
