"Miranda, can you hear me?" Alonzo called to through the full size mirror in the boys' room.  Miranda didn't answer.  "Miranda." He called out even louder.

"I'm right here." She finally responded.  Her image appeared in the looking glass with her room in the background.  "Do you want to come home now?" She asked him. She offered him her hand through the mirror.  He took it and she pulled him into her room on the other side.

"Thanks." He said to her.  She still held onto his hand.

"I wanna know why you wanted to stay after school?  What did you do?" She asked him.

"No reason.  I just wanted to get more familiar with the school, that's all." He told her.

"Bullwhip!  It was Cameron wasn't it?" She asked him.

"Miranda, I just wanted to join the fight team." He started to tell her.

"Did you use your powers?" She asked, her eyes flashing brightly in his face.

"He didn't even notice, well-" He started to say again.

"Alonzo!" She exclaimed.  "We can't just use our powers around the normals.  If Cameron saw you using your powers-" She started to levitate-pace around the room furiously.

"I don't think he saw me using them." He said trying to defend himself.

"You don't 'think' he saw you?!" She screamed.  "You could've sparked another 'Salem Witch Trials' for all we know." She panicked out loud, remembering back to when her mother had told her the same exact thing when she was young and carelessly used her magic.  Alonzo was so startled by her outburst that he fell back onto her bed and wrinkled the pink and black skull and candy "G'bye Kitten" comforter.

"Why can't we use our magic?" Anger and the desire to debate ran over his face, mostly his handsomely menacing eyebrows.  "Why can't we be like normal people and use our magic like normal people can use their minds, their strength, their talents?  Magic is our talent, our knowledge, our strength.  If I didn't us the speed that I just got from that Smoke Hound then you would've had to pull me through that mirror in a to-go body bag because Cameron would've broiled me and served me with a side of fries and your choice of beverage." Alonzo argued, pointing vigorously at her mirror.  Sudden snickers dut to Alonzo's last remark made the boy and girl look towards Miranda's door just in time to catch two figures duck back into the hall on either sides of the door out of sight.

"Shhhh!  You almost got us caught you idiot." Ira whispered to Blake on the other side of the door, scolding him as he continued to force his remaining snickers to stay in his mouth.  Blake nodded to show Ira that he had gotten himself under control and then snorted loudly causing even Ira to bust out laughing.  The two boys fell back into the doorway, Blake pointing at Alonzo and Ira clutching his sides across his belly.

"'With your choice of beverage' he said." Blake snorted.

"SPEWF!" A blast of hot pink magic sent the two boys scrambling and laughing back to the safety of their room.  Their door slammed and they began to laugh even louder, Blake snorting crazily.

Marina appeared in the doorway coming from her room and heading downstairs.  "Boys are so stupid.  No offense, Alonzo.  You're the exception." She smiled and continued downstairs.  Alonzo waved it away.

"Look, I know you wanna get back at Cameron, but I think it'd be better if you just let it go and avoid him.  What would've happened if you lost control of yourself again, or lose control of your powers again?" Miranda argued back.
