"WHOES idea was this, again?" Hanna asked as the five girls walked through the greenery that was more than familiar to the girls.

"Emily's mum." Spencer answered the blonde.

"The shed was me. My mum just said we should do something for us." Emily said defensively.

"Well, couldn't we do something without mosquitoes?" Hanna asked as she swatted away the bugs that were surrounding the girls.

"They're not mosquitoes. They're gnats." Aria corrected the blonde.

"Whatever! They're small and annoying, and they're flying up my nose." Hanna snapped back.

"Well, they're attracted to your perfume. And your hair product and your lip gloss." Spencer told Hanna.

"So, what are you saying, I attract flies?" Hanna asked as she turned back to Spencer.

          "Gnats." Aria corrected her again.

"Why do I feel like this is the wrong way?" Emily asked as the group came to a stop.

"No, this is it. I remember that tree. It's the halfway point. There's one-hundred-and-six steps left to the shed." Spencer informed them.

"Have you been out here since . . . Alison?" Emily asked the Hastings girl.

"Me? No. No way." Spencer answered.

"But you remember that tree." Aria said not convinced.

"You guys, it's not that weird." Hanna said coming to her friends rescue. "I mean, we came out here everyday in eighth grade, even sometimes after."

"I think is totally the wrong place to do this." Bella said as she crossed her arms. "Whatever you want to call it. A Shrine?"

"It's not a shrine. It's just a place to remember Alison." Emily corrected her. "What's wrong with that?"

"Do it all the way out here makes us look like we have something to hide." Bella informed her.

"You're worried what other people think?" Emily asked surprised that Bella Lawton was worried what others thought of her.

"Well, aren't you?" Bella knew her come back was what a three year old would say but she said it anyway. "Do you really want to give that creepy detective more of reasons to question us?"

"Hanna, why are you so quiet?" Aria asked as Hanna continued to walk to the shed.

"I'm trying to keep the bugs in my nose and out of my mouth." Hanna answered, though the girls knew there was more then that.

"You're allowed to have an opinion on this." Emily told her.

"You want my opinion?" Hanna asked as she stopped talking and turned back to the girls. "I say we hold off and not remember her till we know for sure she's not still here."

"What?" "What are you talking about?" Spencer and Aria said at the same time.

"You think she's still alive?" Emily asked the blonde. Bella didn't say anything as she really thought about the possibility of Ali still be alive, though she was quick to shut it down.

"Hanna, they found her body." Spencer reminded the girl.

"Stop." Aria cut Spencer off. "I'm officially scared. Can we just not-"

"You asked for my opinion." Hanna cut the small girl off. "I don't believe she's really gone." Hanna said before she walked off.

"We went to her funeral!" Spencer went after her.

"Yeah, and when we left we all got a text from her." Bella thought Hanna brought up strong points but she still didn't want to believe that Alison was still alive somewhere.

"It wasn't her." Emily said as she followed after Hanna and Spencer. "Someone is messing with us."

"How do you know? And what about all those nasty messages? I mean, how does this A person know stuff only Ali knew?" Hanna asked questions all the girls had asked themselves at least once since they started getting the messages.

"Okay, this conversation is giving me a hive." Aria said hoping the girls would drop the subject that was creeping her out.

"That's a bite. Mosquito." Hanna said going back to the conversation Hanna and Aria were having earlier.

"Spencer, have you gotten any more messages?" Bella knew that Emily's question wasn't aimed at her but she couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable when she thought back to the text she got after her brother got home.

"Haven't you?" Spencer asked back, also feeling uncomfortable with the question. Though before Emily could answer that question the girls could hear rustling in the distance.

"What was that? Did you hear that?" Bella asked Aria, who was next to her. Ever since the A texts had started Bella had been more jumpy than usual.

"Yes, I heard that. I'm standing right next to you." Aria informed her as they all looked in the direction of the sound.

"Hello?" Hanna asked as if someone would answer. "Is anybody out there?"

"It's probably a rabbit." Spencer tried to reason with both the girls and herself.

"Hello?" Hanna asked again not paying attention to the Hastings girl.

"It's a rabbit, Hanna. It's not gonna answer you." Spencer repeated herself.

"Can we just get to the shed?" Emily asked, just wanting to get somewhere that wasn't in the open. There was more rustling, though it was closer and much louder.

"Okay, that is definitely not a rabbit. Someone's out there." Hanna said as all the girls looked around for the source of the noise.

"How about we just go home and do this tomorrow?" Bella said, getting creeped out. But just as the girls were about to do what the girl said all their phones went off. Reluctantly they all pulled out their phones.
