Hehe I couldn't help myself! I just love this book so much and wish it had never ended!
I held the newborn in my arms, a wide grin on my face.
Tyler was sitting next to me in the chair beside my bed.
He had his hand snaked around my wrist, a grin on his face too.
It may have outstretched mine by the slightest bit.
Elsie was with her grandparents in the waiting room. She had just turned six.
"Are you ready to hold Cole?" I asked, our new baby's name rolling off of my tongue perfectly.
He nodded, stretching his arms out so I could hand him Cole.
The moment the baby was in his arms, he had Cole's head gently pressed against the crook of his neck.
Cole's muffled cries turned into silence as Tyler gently rocked him, humming 'Twinkle little star' into his ear.
I grabbed my phone from the table on the other side of me and swiftly snapped a picture.
He narrowed his eyes at me once he realized what I had done.
Finally I got checked out of the hospital and Tyler and I went home with Cole.
Elsie had been staying with my parents so she had yet to meet her new baby brother.
She was supposed to be home in about twenty minutes, so she'd meet him then.
As I stared at Cole in awe, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around my waist.
"I love you." Tyler breathed, burying his head into the crook of my neck.
I leaned back into his chest, the comfort of being in his arms made me feel safe.
"I love you too."
There were a few loud knocks on the front door and I grinned widely, excited to see Elsie's reaction.
I opened the door to see my parents on either side of Elsie.
"Can we see the baby now too?" Mom asked, her eyes sparkling with hope and endearment.
"Absolutely," I muttered, standing to the side so they could all enter.
I led them into the living roon where Cole was asleep in Tyler's arms.
"Oh my! She's so adorable!" Mom gushed, and I chuckled.
"Cole's a boy mom," I said, sighing as I shook my head.
"Oops!" She exclaimed, her cheeks flushing crimson.
She scooped Cole into her arms, completely ignoring Tyler's playful glare.
"You're going to grow up to be a handsome young man. At least you should, because you don't look much like your father." Mom cooed, tossing shade at Tyler, and he glared at her for real this time.
"What do you think of him Elsie?" I asked, taking him from my mother and bending down so I was closer to her height.
She looked at him for a moment before scrunching up her nose in disgust, "He stinks...I don't like him."
I laughed, handing Cole to my dad for a moment since he hadn't gotten to hold him yet.
Mom and dad stayed home to babysit the kids, while Tyler and I took a trip to see an old place we hadn't visited for a long time.
The place held a lot of memories.
Tyler and I jammed out to the band 'all time low', on the way there.
The wind raking through my hair as strands of it flew out the open window.
Strands occasionally slapping me or Tyler in the face.
Finally we pulled up to it; Tyler got out and jogged around to my side to open the door.
He grabbed my hand and helped me out, closing the door behind me.
We entered the old school building, and went to the room with the words that meant so much to me:
This is where our love started,
In this room, two hearts, started their journey to become one.
Sadly, one heart heart has to go, but what was once together, will never be completely apart.
I love her, and I always will, I just hope she feels the same.
Tears stung my eyes just like they had years ago.
Our love was like a drug, we were addicted to it, and there was no quitting the addiction.
Sorry this one was short, but I had to do another one! Thanks for reading!
