Thomas' POV

"Come on, guys, we're almost there!" I yelled to the Gladers, holding (Y/N)'s hand in mine, trying to bring her to safety.

Teresa, being in front, found an opening in glass in an abandoned mall. We chased after her, everyone clumsily sliding down the mountain of sand.

At the bottom, after making sure everyone hadn't been left behind, I kneeled down in front of my daughter, (Y/N). She's only 5 years old and I don't know how I've gotten her this far. She has no idea what's going on. She's exhausted, like everyone else, but she's not used to it. She's scared, like why wouldn't she be, and I have no idea what to do with her.

All the Gladers, Minho, Teresa, Newt, Frypan, Winston and I, all stood in a circle. "Thomas, what's going on?" Newt asked, but I couldn't say 'cause I myself did not know what was going on.

"Daddy?" I barely heard my daughter say. But, I was too caught up in everyone else and my own thoughts that I didn't know what I was hearing.

They were all going back and forth, and they were trying to talk to me, but I was just... frozen. I couldn't move. Aris was the exact same way. It was as if he was frozen for eternity.

"Thomas, who are these people?" Teresa asked.

"I... I don't..." I couldn't finish 'cause I didn't know what to say.

"Daddy," I heard again, a small hand tugging on my shirt. But, I was still frozen.

"Look, I don't know what's going on. All I know is that, whoever these people are, they're not who they say they are. I don't know what we're gonna do, or where we're gonna go. So, if you guy's would stop arguing and actually try to make up a plan then we'd actually get something figured out for once." I kind of said it a louder tone than I meant to.

"Daddy," I heard once more, and I listened this time, just not in the way I wanted.

"(Y/N), would you please just calm down for just a minute? I need to figure this out and with you constantly interrupting me, I can't do that. So, if you could just please leave me alone so I can figure something out!" And when I didn't hear any sound other than the wind outside, I realized what I had just done.

I opened my eyes, looking around my silent group of friends. Then, once I realized what they were looking at, I looked down and behind me, seeing my daughter staring up at me, tears filling her eyes.

She began crying and I realized I had made a huge mistake. I've never yelled at her before. I saw the terror in her eyes. I knew that she was just scared. She just needed my attention. And I was too caught up in myself to notice.

"(Y/N), I'm so sorry." I told her, kneeling down in front of her frozen figure, tears streaming down her cheeks. I gathered her in my arms, holding her tight as the Gladers watched. Though, I didn't care.

"(Y/N), please forgive me. I didn't mean to yell at you. I just need you to understand that I don't know what's going on and I need to concentrate to figure something out. I understand that you are scared. I realize now that you need my full attention." I pause, setting my hands on her shoulders, trying to comfort her, as I stare into her eyes. I wipe away some stray tears on her cheeks.

"And I will give you my attention and I will keep you safe. I love you so much." I brought her back into my arms, picking her up in my arms as she lays her head on my shoulder, her arms wrapping around my neck as I stroke her hair.

I hold her in my arms as we create a plan to get everyone to safety, though, my only priority is (Y/N).

So sorry for the wait everyone. I've been so busy with school starting and I've gotten a message or two asking for some new imagines. So here's one and another will be posted later after I write it. As for this imagine, I'm sorry if it's not so good. I was at the water park with my dad yesterday and I had gotten a bad sunburn. Curse myself for not putting on sunscreen. Anyways, I was in so much pain and I was so tired and I had stayed up late writing this. Otherwise, I hope y'all enjoy this. and please please request some ideas 'cause one reason I haven't been writing other than being busy is that I don't know what to write. So tell me which of Dyl's characters you want me to write and what you want to happen. Enjoy:)
