Please VOTE/COMMENT if you like it... =)

The video is a song that kind of shows the perspective of the characters...

Also, the picture is of Sara Lynn of Reselle (AKA Samantha)...

Please let me know what you think of the story... I know it is a bit depressing in the beginning... but I guess the plot is just a little more serious than most stories...

Prologue

Sam knew this was certain to happen. She knew she would one day have to shoot him, even if his bright gray eyes and lovely, olive skin made her remember that night she realized how she had truly felt about him and his romantic proposal. Sam knew this day would come, the second she met this stranger. Now, when seconds away from killing the man she may think of as her one true love, Sam wished she had never known him and that he had never led her into this glorious faerie world. Tara glared towards Sam, signaling her to press the trigger.

Sam's hands were shaking faster than the rate at which her heart was skipping beats. Her heart was racing faster than ever before. Beads of sweat began forming on the tip of her forehead and soon covered her entire head, from the tips of her dark, auburn bangs within seconds to the invisible crevices on her perfect face. She did not want to kill him but had no choice to make; he had to die, even if his death made her body lifeless. Tara glared towards Sam to make her press the trigger, and a bullet flew into his chest within seconds. He began bleeding and fell back, leaning onto the wall behind him. Sam could not believe she actually killed him. Sam did not know what to do and just stood, feeling more dead than the corpse of the man she could never forget. Tara silently left the room while Sam was standing emotionless and realizing what she had done.

After Tara's departure, Sam's eyes began filling with tears, and she went to the body and tried to bring it to life once again by holding it to her body as tightly as she could. She barely knew him, and yet he was her life, the first man she had ever even thought of giving a position of importance to. She knew she could never forget him.

Sam's hand dug deep into the pocket of the bulky sweater surrounding her slim, fragile body and took out a diamond ring. The diamond ring he had given her before she led him to his death. The very ring which was going to make them a wedded couple the next day. Sam knew that even though he did not know of her real name, she knew his. Even though she could never tell him her true name and he would never know of her reality, her feelings for him would be equal to those she would have for him if she knew.

Sam placed her arms around the dead body's waist and hugged him lovingly. She wished she did not have to kill him. Yet, what happens can not be undone. Sam held his hand softly and remembered how this hand was the one which placed that diamond ring on her finger. She felt as if she had betrayed him. Sam had two reasons for feeling this way. The first reason why she felt so was because she led him to love her and brought him to the doors of death. The second reason why she felt as if she betrayed him was because she wore the diamond ring he had given her in acceptance of his proposal and took it off just before she murdered him.

Sounds of sirens began growing. Sam realized her time with him had ended and that she must leave his world forever and go back to from where she come. She knew that she had to leave the faeries forever before they captured her. She needed to return to her life as Samantha Richards instead of living like Sara Lynn of Reselle. Knowing she would miss him, Sam held his head and gave him a forceful kiss that warmed him so much that even his tightly clenched teeth were forced to open. To a normal human, kissing a corpse may seem disgusting but to Sam, at that moment, she was saying farewell to her love.

As soon as she had finished kissing him, Sara stormed his pockets and took out his compass. He had once told her how the compass, when pointed North, could take a person from the human world into the realm of faeries and how, when pointed South, it could take a person from the faerie realm into the human world. She was just about to open his compass when she bent down and held his hand. As soon as Sam rethought the fact that she was to leave forever, she caught glimpse of his lucky silver ring. She took it out from his index finger and wore it on her own hand. She wore it on the finger on which he had placed that diamond ring, the finger which sent blood to the heart, and the finger on which you wear the ring of the one who you truly love.

Within seconds, Sam came into reality. She rose from the ground where she sat beside him and looked at the glamorous compass that would take her back from where she came into this new, faerie-filled world. She straightened her broad shoulders confidently and opened the compass. It pointed South, just where she was to go, and Sam vanished into thin air. The very next second, Sam saw her old house and knew no matter how hard she tried, her time as Sara Lynn would haunt her for eternity. She glanced at the silver ring in her finger and walked steadily towards the house in which she had lived her whole life.
