Aspen's point of view:
As as soon as Poppy inserted the wire into Liberty's neck, her illuminous blue eyes rolled back. I ran forward to catch her, her body falling limp in my arms.
"What the fuck did you do?" I yelled at Poppy, looking down at my Link. This was such a stupid idea, I shouldn't have gone through with it.
"I-I don't know" she stuttered, clutching her hands to her chest.
"Don't just stand there looking dumb, fix her!" I yelled again. I've waited far too long for my link only to loose her the second day of meeting her.
"I'm not sure how" Poppy whispered as if Liberty was a sleeping child she didn't want to wake.
I pulled Liberty close to me, letting the sparks send a calming effect washing over my body. It was only when we stopped talking did I hear it. A murmuring, a very soft murmuring.
I arched my neck down so my face was nearer to hers, only to be very surprised to find the mumbling coming from her.
It was only soft, almost inaudible, so I had to bring my ear close to her lips to hear. She didn't speak words of English nor Fortunick like me, she only whispered numbers, and at random a word I would not catch properly.
"5,2,3,5,1,4,8,3 operate 2,4,6,2,8,1,5...." she said in a wispy tone, not once stopping for air.
I furrowed my brow in confusion, giving Poppy a worried glance.
"What is it?" Poppy said crossing the room.
"She's talking" I said lowly, looking back down at my Link.
I instinctively shielded Liberty's lifeless body away from Poppy as she went to grab her from her from me.
"Please Aspen, I need to inspect her situation in order to fix her." Poppy said reaching out again to take Liberty from me.
I reluctantly helped Poppy shift her so she was lying on her side. "Thanks" she said checking Liberty's pulse.
"Her heart rate's steady" she reassured, whilst checking a few other things. "Her blood pressure too"
"So she's fine?" I questioned, brushing away a piece of hair that had fallen across her sleeping features. I admired her, whilst thinking how lucky I was to have such a beautiful Link.
"If a possessed robot girl is what she's usually like, then yeah I'd say she's fine" said a familiar sarcastic voice behind me.
I turned round to see both Kal and Russel standing in the door way; Kal leaning casually against the doorframe and Russel looking guiltily down at his shoes. He probably still felt bad for what happened in the canteen, and was probably also fully aware at how pissed I am at him.
"Babe, this really isn't the time" Poppy said rushing over to Kal, eager to shoo him away before he no doubt says something stupid. Oh wait he already had.
"You finally found your Link and weren't going to tell me. I had to find out second hand from Russel." He said faking a hurt expression.
"Did he now?" I said shooting Russel a dirty look, while he awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. That boy gossips more than a bunch of middle aged women.
