I turned as I lay on my bed, the sleepless night haunt me, the moon was nowhere to be seen. It was 11:50. I had been up for several hours, trying somehow to get myself asleep. The pitch-black room had no victory of light, just a dim glow from the window. The unsettling thought of Ellie still lingered around my mind, though I was not sure I was safe enough to fall asleep. My door room creaked opened, forcing me to fluttered my eyes open instantly. The figure stood tall above me, towering over the glowing light. As it was dark, I failed to make out the figure, squinting my eyes as my heart thumped in my chest. The figure just stood there, watching intensively at me. Sure enough he or she does not know I was wide awake. Another reason that I was awake is because I don't fully trust my new friends, anytime they would stab me in the back. I knew I had to keep myself alert. For a few minutes, it just stood there, then raising a hand for no reason, almost likely to fling it down. I had given up, flicking the lights on immediately, the figure scattered away, slamming the door close before I could even make it out. The figure, of course had left the equipment on the floor, searching for it under my bed, a sharp object cut my finger. Picking up the strange object, I was flabbergasted as I stared at the weapon. A knife. Mary's knife.
Its coming! A voice echoed in my mind. Mary's voice. You have not much time left, enjoy while you live, you can't run away from me. My mind spun in panic, I started hyperventilating, the panic clogged my throat. Pushing back from the knife, I dropped the unholy weapon on the floor, making a loud clang. I had it all plan. I screamed, my own voice screeched in my ears, sending echoes through the entire house. Bella flung the door opened as I hid the knife under the bed. "What happened?" Her face dressed in anxiety. I knew I couldn't trust her but stress was the last thing I needed now. "M..Mary," I stuttered as I shivered in fear. "Are you okay? What did Mary do," She bended down to my side, the worried girl soothed me as she questioned. "She... said I am going.. to die," Bella gasped, I wondered if that was a fake worry, but my mind still shaken from the horrible phenomenon. Though there was something strange about her. She feels cold. Dead, actually. I shook that thought as I focused on my problems. She stayed until I started to breathe normally, and returned back to her room.
The next morning, I woke up quite late due to the late nap. I drowsily searched under my bed for the knife, but I was shocked it was already gone. No, it can't be gone, I thought as I tossed pillows around to search for the knife. As long as it was with me, I was assure I was utterly safe. Unfortunately, the knife seemed to be lost. Or stolen. Bella's name rung in my head, like the chiming church bells on a bright Sunday. She was the last one who was in my room last night, she had been acting weird lately. Silence stolen her sole, she spoke when she was needed to speak and she seemed to be daydreaming. I couldn't accuse her, Bella had two options if I told her. Decline it or kill me with the knife. The risky solution led me to nothing. So I did what every stubborn girl would do in the horror movies. I spied on her.
The poor quality staircase creaked as I step on it, Bella's room was one floor above mine, as I had to go up to her room without her notice. Bella had just announced that she was going out with Eve, which was fine to me. As I reached the top of the stairs, I had already started gasping from anxiety. What if Bella comes back? I shouldn't do this, but I must. I pushed opened the door, peeking inside nervously. As the room was empty, I stepped in and slammed the door shut behind me. My second mark burned against my skin. Something was here. The neat room showed nothing about Bella, no posters or pictures, the childhood of Bella was completely a stranger to me. It was a boring girl's room. Her walls were painted a pale purple which was coming off, the windows was apparently not dusted for a few months. Or years. Her bed matched with her closet, white. It looked like she never lived here before. Only a cupboard stood outstanding the others. I yanked on the black doorknob, but it wouldn't budge. I sigh in disappointment, tipping toes to feel the top of the cupboard. To my surprise, the key was really there, I grinned at my success. Unlocking the door impatiently, it was only filled with clothes, doll's clothes. I pushed the clothes aside, revealing Ellie lying lifelessly in the closet. My heart at my throat, I wanted to scream but there was no sound coming from my mouth. No, not again. "What are you doing?" Bella stood at the opened door, anger filled her face. I wanted to point out that Ellie was here, but I was afraid that if I opened my mouth, my heart will jump out. Glancing back to the closet, Ellie was gone. The black wardrobe changed to a pale pink one, clothes piled up one another. I searched in the closet and around the closet. Ellie was nowhere to be seen.
