Oh boy. He was speaking to me and he was smiling. What did that mean? Was he acknowledging the kiss? Or were we back to being friends again?
I was chasing thoughts round and round my head and it was driving me crazy.
"Kat? Are these lattes yours?" He peered at me through his fringe.
Oh. Never mind.
I smiled at him and mumbled. "Yeah- no, I... yes."
He leant in and whispered: " I added a little extra something to your latte. I- I hope you like it."
I blushed and grabbed the tray, pulling it away so he didn't see my face.
"Thanks!" I called over my shoulder, confident now, as he couldn't see my face.
Kate narrowed her eyes at me as I sat down.
"Why didn't you talk to him for longer?"
"He, uh, he was busy. At work, y'know..." Four sceptical pairs of eyes pierced me.
"Okay, he only asked me about the lattes and I-was-scared-to-ask-anything-else!" I rushed out.
Ems giggled at me. "There's no need to be nervous, Kat. He's into you."
I shook my head and started on my sandwich.
I have no idea what I'm doing.
