"Alright, handsome. I'm all yours. But hey, what are you doing here? You should be in the boardroom."
"I still need to see you. I can't kiss you there," he said softly then he gave me another quick kiss.
"You should go there by now. I still have a lot of things to get there."
"It's fine. Dad's already there. Do you need help?" He asked.
"Letting me go for a minute will help. I really need to do something." I suddenly remembered what Travis asked me. He wanted us to go to the boardroom together. How could I escape this?
"It's okay. I'll wait for you."
"Matt, please. Your Dad would want you to be there with him."
"Are you getting rid of me?"
I sighed, "No. I just need to grab a few things. Okay?"
"Okay. But, later at my place? Are we good?"
"Yes, I already promised you right?" I chuckled, "But make sure the bubble bath is ready, okay? With a lot of petals. And... and wear the Tasmanian devil boxers!" I giggled as I drew an invisible line of his chest.
"Okay. A bubble bath and the Tasmanian boxes."
"And rose petals," I added. "Don't forget."
He grinned, "And rose petals, okay!"
"Now, go away! You are bothering me."
He chuckled, "Okay, I'll see you at the boardroom, babe." He enveloped his arms around my waist again as he gave me another deep kiss. His mouth was already wet when it touched mine. He hovered his mouth over mine gently and carefully. I parted my mouth slightly, inviting him in then he thrust his tongue into my mouth. His skillful tongue met mine. Until Travis's face suddenly appeared in my mind. I moaned, loudly. I pulled away.
"Why?" Mateo whispered.
"W-we're going to be late."
"Just give me another minute."
His mouth came back crushing mine. Travis' face flashed again in my mind. I can't do this. Why did he keep on appearing in my mind?
"Clara? Clara, I heard a—" Mateo's mouth was still on my neck when he stopped. We both glanced at the door and found Travis scowling back at us, "...voice."
Mateo stepped away, "Rafael?" His tanned skin turned pale. He stunned as he staggered back steps, "This is not real," he whispered harshly.
Travis stepped inside the room with the great dominance and came near his cousin. "Mateo. It's been a long time," he said as he started to speak like the real Rafe. He reached out a hand to him, but Mateo didn't move even an inch.
"Clara?" he looked at me in horror. "What is this? What's going on?" Mateo rambled. He looked so afraid, it made me wonder if I had the same face the first time I saw him.
"It shouldn't be like this. I was going to introduce myself to you properly," Travis said to him. Mateo didn't answer, still couldn't believe of what's happening.
I inhaled and then took a deep breath as I answer Mateo's query, "It's Rafe, Matt." I said then I closed my eyes. That name was what I would be calling him from now on.
"What the hell?" Mateo breathed out.
"Rafe, I'll talk to him." Damn, I won't get used to it.
"What's going on? He's d-dead..." Mateo had lost it as well, just like how I was when I saw him. He shook his head, "This is impossible... This is not possible!" he shouted.
"Mateo, calm down. We don't want you to know it like this. I was really going to tell everyone today." Travis said to him.
"Don't talk to me whoever the fuck you are!" he shoved Travis's hand away.
"Mateo, please... Just calm down for one second! I'm begging you."
"Is this what's keeping you busy for the last week?" He questioned. "His ghost came back and you won't even let me see your face?" he shouted at my face. My knees went wobbly. This was more complicated than I thought.
"Enough! I won't let you shout at her like that!" Travis shouted back at him.
"Stay away from this whoever you are. I don't believe that it's you. This is not real. I am dreaming, right, Clara? Tell me!"
"W-what?" he whispered sharply.
I nodded "It's him... It's your cousin."
"What the hell is happening?"
I held his face and made him look at me, "Hey... It is true but nothing's going to change. He's just back to fix the company. He will explain everything later. He has a different life now. He needs my help, that's all. Please, listen to me? I love you, okay? Do you trust me?"
"I trust you. I just don't think I can trust someone who came back to life."
"You were once friends. It's the same, Rafe." I glanced briefly at Travis. I didn't know if he could play nice with Mateo. I just wished he knew what he was doing. I was deceiving my fiancée now. "We will explain everything later. Now, go to the boardroom like nothing happened. He'll show himself to everyone now. He deserves to get his company back."
Mateo sighed then he patted his shoulder, "I have a lot of things I want to talk about, Rafe. I'll see you in the boardroom," he said coldly then walked his way out of my office.
An awkward silence enveloped between us after a storm. I cleared my throat as I was about to say something, but Travis cut in.
"Damn," he cursed. "That was chilling."
"I should probably practice calling you Rafael by now. I almost had a heart attack a while ago riding with your stupid plot." I sighed.
"Head over heels, huh?"
He crossed his arms around his chest then raised an eyebrow, "You almost suck the life out of him with your mouth."
I rolled my eyes. He saw us earlier. "What's wrong with that? He's my fiancée. I'm sorry if you had to see that, okay? God, why am I explaining to you?"
He breathed out sharply, "Come on, we're late."
