Ghosting Bliss

Watching the sunrise is one of Delphine’s favourite things to do. The wide array of colours speaks for themselves as they canvas the morning sky. It is almost strange that right before every sunrise, the sky becomes pitch black before the magic begins to happen.

There is nothing quite like a sunrise and each one magnificently different from the next but just as breath taking and this one is no different.

It does not take long for the fracas on the streets to gain Delphine’s attention. Humans now fill the streets and from the rooftop where Delphine currently stands they look like busy ants serving their master the Queen only in this case it is money.

Delphine cannot help but shake her head in disapproval at the absurdity of it all. Sometimes she wishes they were like her, free to roam wherever she pleases without a care in the world except from the occasional sting of loneliness but it never quite lasts long enough for her to fully acknowledge it’s presence.

Having had enough of the view down below, Delphine decides to bask in the morning rays one last time before she heads downstairs.

With her eyes closed, Delphine tilts her head slightly upwards and feels a cold chill run down her spine which immediately brings a confused frown onto her face.

“Strange, I’ve never felt that before” she thinks to herself but the thought completely disintegrates as she continues to relish in the feeling of the morning rays upon her warm flesh.

She almost feels like with one gentle push of her foot against the rooftop ledge, she can practically float towards the sun into her very own oblivion not that she has not tried numerous times and failed miserably, it is just that the thought comes to her every single morning.

Sometimes she does try and sometimes she does not but the thought quickly passes and Delphine decides that it is now time to head downstairs to find out what the rest of the tenants are up to for the day.
