Laughing like weirdos

Sam looked at me, tears filling his green eyes. He knew what I meant, that I was afraid that he was in danger around me.

I hugged him tighter, burying my face in his chest. I felt warm tears drip onto the top of my head and I looked back up at him. His green eyes were rimmed with red and leaking tear, which were running down his cheeks. I gave him a small smile and wiped away his tears gently. He returned my small smile and placed his hand on my cheek. I closed my eyes and placed my hands on his. I smiled, still glad and slightly amazed that he had survived that he had survived having his soul being shoved back into him.

He leaned forward and kissed my lips, very gently. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself closer to him, if that was even possible. He placed his hands on my back and held on to me so I couldn't move away. I pulled away my face and placed my forehead against his.

"I love you," I whispered. He smiled back at me.

"I love you, too," he replied quietly, his lips brushing my ear. I shuddered and smiled, closing my eyes. He kissed my cheek and lifted me gently, carrying me bridal style. I laughed as he spun me in his arms, my head becoming lighter than air and my vision blurring. The only thing I could see clearly was Sam's face. He smiled and laughed with me, slowing down as we both became dizzy.

We fell backwards onto the bed, still laughing like weirdos. Sam grew tired quickly, which was understandable considering he hadn't slept in months. We fell silent, although our smiles never faltered. His eyes dropped and I tucked him under the quilts, and crawled under next to him.

"Can you sing me a song?" he asked, yawning softly.

I began to hum a familiar song.

By the time I had finished my song, Sam had fallen into a deep, real sleep, snoring softly. I grinned and closed my eyes, joining Sam in a peaceful slumber.
