a monster
once swallowed
will not
let go
a parasite
clings to you
and crawls into
your ribs
and squeezes
your lungs
as
you scream
for air
the spider
weaves its
fingers
around your throat
and becomes
an iron
cage
an ocean
drowns you
in thoughts
that you
never imagined
before
and denies
you
the right
to float
in a haze of
frustration
you look
for answers
to your
questions
but there are
none
tax collector of
injustice
sits in
your heart
gripes
groans
"woe
is me
and i
am woe
woe
is me
indeed"
a monster
once swallowed
will not
let go
