Chapter 11

Tears filled my eyes. Why couldn't he be a normal dad and show me a single sign of affection? Well, he did hug my this afternoon. Yeah, right. He just probably wanted to soften me up so I could tell him where mom is. Yeah right, like I would ever tell him.

I stormed down the hallways until I reached the elevator. I pressed the Parking Lot button and leant against the wall. I can't handle anymore of this. The doors dinged open and I dashed to my car, I need to get out of here.

I reach into my pocket and pull out my car keys. I get inside the car and step on the gas. I zoomed out of the garage, and out of the SSS Headquarters. I don't pay attention to where I am going, I just drive.

Tears are streaming down my cheeks as I step on the gas further. The roaring of the car engine became my pacifier and it placated the streaming tears. I barely notice the ocean to the left and the moonlight illuminating the water. I swiftly turn all the sharp corners and escalade to the top of the mountain. I glance at my rear view mirror and see a black Camaro behind me.

"Shit," I cuss under my breath and try to lose the car. I don't know anyone with a black Camaro, it's probably one of my Baby Doll fanatics. I reach down under my seat and pull out my silver gun. I roll down the window and stick my arm out and tilt my hand back so that it's pointed at the black Camaro.

I pull the trigger and see how the bullet bounces off the car. Shit, he must have customized his car. I can't shoot the car, it would be a waste of time and bullets. As I debate on what to do next, I see a sharp right turn ahead. I press the break and make the turn roughly, almost falling of the cliff.

"Shit, that was a close one," I mutter to myself and step on the gas. The black Camaro gains up on me and drives alongside me. The driver's window rolls down.

"Pull over, Catherine!" Hansel shouts at me while looking at the dangerous road ahead. I roll down my passenger window and yell back, "Try and catch me!"

I roll the window back up and change gears. I hear the Camaro roar and catch up with me. We raced up the mountain. Another sharp turn was ahead. The Camaro made the sharp turn and turned so that it was driving backwards.

"Show off," I smile and surpass him. He turns his car so that it's facing the correct way. I step on the brake lightly and turn the wheel so that I'm sliding sideways down the road. Just as the road is about to turn left, I step in the gas and go forward. I see ahead how the road ends at a cliff, and I step on the brakes. Hansel parks behind me.

I turn off the car and look at the time on the dashboard, 1:07. Shit, it's late. I step out of the car and notice that Hansel had done the same.

"Do you always have to stalk me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms. I leant against my car.

"I wasn't stalking you. I just happened to be exiting the parking lot at the same time as you. And I also happened to be going the same way as you," he said shrugging and crossing his arms across his broad chest. Damn, those muscles.

"So you are saying meeting me here was a coincidence," I asked grinning.

"No, not a coincidence. Fate," he shrugged staring me in the eyes. His deep green forest eyes locked with my bright blue eyes.

"Fate," I scoffed, "Fate is cruel." I walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down.

The ocean water clashed against the rocks below. The ocean water was illuminated by the full moon above us.

"Beautiful, isn't it," I asked Hansel. I felt arms wrap around my waist and a breath by my neck.

"Very," he whispered into my ear. I shuddered as I came to the realization that he wasn't staring at the view at all. I lean back into his body and sigh in content. I rest my arms over his and close my eyes.
