She had not signed up for this her heart was nowhere near ready

Clary seemed to have formed some sort of plan of action in her head whilst Evie processed the words Luke had used. Despite being reluctant to follow, Evie trusted her sister enough to walk blindly after her down the strange plan, no matter where it led them. This path led them back to their housing complex, and it appeared normal from the outside. The only thing was that it generated a feeling of dread for Evie and tried to ignite her fight or flight reflexes, with the girl leaning to the latter rather than the former.

"Clar, I don't think we should go inside, I have a feeling that it isn't safe."

"Eve, we've got to. Mom is inside and she's just going to tell us this is some elaborate birthday prank." Clary's not so reassuring words bounced back.

"Issa, I'm being serious some thing is wrong, like seriously wrong." Evie continued to press, though it was falling on deaf ears.

Clary continued to move inwards to the building with Evie trailing a few inches behind her. The feeling of dread increased, the closer they got to their apartments front door. This had caused Evie to take out two of the throwing knives in case they were necessary. Upon entering the house, they were hit with a mess which signified a bomb having gone off, furniture was tuned over and broken with splinters littering the floor, photo frames had been smashed and there was no sight of their mother anywhere. Venturing furthering into the apartment only caused that feeling of dread to amount to a point where it implied impending doom. The house was eerily quiet, the squeaking of their shoes being the only sound heard. When another pair of footsteps sounded out Evie's interest peaked. These footsteps were not light indicating whomever it was wanted to be noticed by the twins, having known they would return to the house and was waiting to take them just like she assumed they had taken their mother. All Evie could think of in this moment was that they were most likely going to be kidnapped and their faces would probably be plastered around the town on missing posters in a couple of days time. This was not the nicest thought train to be stuck on but it was the one Evie was struggling to snap herself out of.

Clary seemed to be the first of the pair to snap herself out of whatever thoughts they were currently having, reaching out to take the axe that was placed on the wall as a precautionary if a fire broke out. However, the person that came to face them was Dot? Or at least appeared to be Dot. Yet after what Evie had seen already this night she wasn't convinced. This was backed up by the way this version of Dot stood and the fact that their mascara had smudged, which Evie knew was something that would have irritated Dot to no end and the older woman could not go without fixing. They way this version of Dot spoke was rushed which was very unlike the Dot she knew, who remained calm no matter the situation. They also pressed an importance in some kind of cup, yet the real Dot would have known about the cup from downstairs and would have trusted that the two girls did not know any more than they let on.

It was at this moment that this version of Dot let out an ear bursting screech and started to shift from the cover of Dot to something Evie could never have dreamt of. Large tentacles flew out of its mouth and towards Clary who was the closest of the two. Clary swung the axe in her hands though it seemed to be doing little to no damage to the being and the fake Dot struck Clary with one of their tentacles. It was then that Evie acted upon impulse and there the two knives in her hands simulatainously at the fake Dot, watching as they impaled it in the side of their face. However, the imposter remained standing until they were struck from behind. It began to crumple before disintegrating into dust.

Evie practically leapt towards her elder sister, not even wasting a second to look on who would be deemed her saviour. Rather drawing her attention to the large gash on her sisters neck, a very deep and very black looking gash that Evie wasn't sure her sister would be able to recover from. Clary's forehead had become coated in a sheen of sweat as her body began its effort to fight whatever had entered her system. The stranger spoke to Clary first attempting to reassure her that she would be fine. Evie took this time to study this saviour only to realise it was the same blonde her sister had been flirting with earlier on in the night. Wow her sister's suitors now even came chasing after her wouldn't that be nice?

"We need to get your sister out of here and somewhere safe."

"Whilst your point may be valid, I'm not moving until I've got some basic information, you will not touch my sister or take her anywhere until I know who on this god damn planet you are." Evie set out her terms and raised an eyebrow at the man staring directly into his eyes. They were a strange brown almost honey coloured combination that made her starling blue eyes look boring in comparison. Her arms were crossed as she stood defiantly in front of her sister blocking his access.

"Jace Wayland, I'm a shadow hunter and I plan on helping your sister when you move." Evie only nodded in response before following after Jace.

She didn't trust him fully, he seemed troubled and very full of himself almost as though he had a messiah complex. She didn't want her sister around someone like him considering the internal conflict she would be going through and his own internal conflict would not be beneficial. Yet she knew that in this moment he was the best person to help her sister. They could easily walk away from him once her sister had healed.

During their walk to destination unknown, Evie took the time to try to work out what had actually happened during the last 24 hours. She was sure that basically none of it had sunk in. Her mothers words seemed to have registered but they hadn't freaked her out like they should have done considering what a massive secret that was to share. And she thought sharing her sexuality was about as big of a secret as you could get. The only thing she knew was a certain that was her sister was safe and she really wanted to go to bed. The young girl was shattered as the time ticked slowly towards 2 am and she realised she had been up nearly 20 hours solid. The destination appeared to be a run down church though upon walking inside Evie let out a small gasp cause this was like Marvel's SHIELD on steroids. As she marvelled at the inside of the building she lost sight of her sister and Jace. Though for ht mean time she was way too involved in the spectacular surroundings and her own thoughts to notice or be too concerned about this fact.
