Aria held her breath as Principal Kathy began to draw names. She felt sweat on her forehead. Why am I so nervous? She asked herself. Looking up as Principal Kathy read the first name.
"Lucy Mahope!" Principal Kathy yelled. Aria heard Lucy's scream from all the way across the gym. She practically fell down the risers from happiness.
"Lucy, stand behind me," Kathy said sharply. Kathy picked up the next piece of paper. "Josh Reith." Said the principal with less excitement. Aria could see he was excited. But he kept his cool and swaggered down the risers and grabbed his card.
"Next is Chris Beheel," Kathy sighed. Chris just walked casually down to the principal and grabbed his card.
"Last but not least, Aria Woods." Principal Kathy said, sighing in relief that another boy wasn't coming.
Aria froze. She couldn't believe her ears. How did she win? She slowly got up and made her way down the stairs, just in case it was a mistake. But there was no mistake. Aria quietly went to grab her card and took her place next to Chris.
"Get to class," Principal Kathy yelled. "Except you four." She looked at the chosen ones. "You're coming with me."
