"Nighttime is considered as one of the best periods to travel. Why? It’s simply because you can see the vast sky, the way they seem to keep all things light. Then you’ll find yourself smiling at the stars like they knew all your secrets. You’ll have this urge to sleep under the stars for you have to live in the moment." - NicAthena
Daniel aka the college guy sat next to his girlfriend. She was in a pretty bad situation. There were a lot of tubes all connected to her nose and mouth. Her hands, though, were full off needles injected by the corresponding veins. She was in pain, we all could see that. With her contorted face, and her dry lips, I knew she was having a hard time to speak with her boyfriend. I couldn’t even imagine how it was like for her. How could her parents simply leave their daughter like this?
“Shh, it’s okay, baby, I’m here.” Daniel’s voice cracked as he softly glided his hand through her hair.
Eros and I stood side by side. I glanced at him, and was surprised to see how much his face has softened up. “Are you okay?” I asked him.
He blinked. I must have probably cut him off from his train of thoughts. “Yeah.”
Slowly, I went to the girl and settled myself at the foot of her bed. She glanced at me in worried look. “Did you cause trouble again?” She met Daniel’s glanced and frowned. “I told you, I don’t want you to get into any trouble. Daniel. . . please.”
“It’s okay. He didn’t cause anything that big.” I assured her, smiling. “I’m Cytherea.”
“Hellen,” She didn’t smile. All she did was stare at me as if I’ve grown three heads. Was I that scary? But why did she looked shocked to see not only me, but also Eros? Did we do something we’re not supposed to do? I wish she didn’t have to give us that face. It made things worse. “Y-you, I know you.”
I peeked at Eros. “Him?”
Eros raised an eyebrow.
Hellen shook her head and tugged Daniel’s end sleeve. “No, you,” She inclined her head towards me and my eyes widened. How could she know me? I was confused. I was sure that I didn’t know her so how come she thinks I was familiar to her? She must have been hallucinating. I’ve had enough ‘familiarity’ with people. And it gets more and more confusing every time.
