Alex and Jonathan laughed at her before they slowly started swaying to the music. "You look amazing."

"Thanks."

"This could have been us you know."

Alex pushed away from him. "Jonathan." she warned as he pulled her back into his arms.

"Alright, I'm sorry. I respect your decision to say no." He started, "I wish nothing but the best for you and Jason."

"There is no Jason and I. Not anymore."

Jonathan frowned before turning her away from him and giving her a light shove. It wasn't until Alex looked up that she realised he had pushed her towards Jason. "Well then go and fix that."

The moment Alex saw Jason's large body gliding across the floor towards her, she panicked and ran in another direction until she bumped into her mother who was with Gerry and Alexis. "Alex! Where are you running off to?"

"Nowhere mommy. Congratulations, I'm so happy for you!" She hugged her mother tightly and did the same to Gerry.

"We both are."

"I'm just happy that we were able to plan it on such late notice and that Mya and Chris were so willing to do a double wedding." Her mother gushed, the smile never leaving her face.

"I'm just happy that we're finally married." Gerry mused, linking arms with Adele.

"So what about your name, are you going to change it?" Alex asked. "Am I gonna be Alexandra Strauss?"

Adele waved her off as if the suggestion was crazy as the Bilal's Soul Sister began to play. Alex tensed and avoided looking over at Jason as this song was almost their song. "Oh no, honey. I'm still an Armstrong, I just might hyphenate it. Don't worry, you're still Alex Armstrong for now."

A smug smile made its way onto Alexis' face. "Not for long."

Her twin opened her mouth to speak but instead, she felt a large masculine hand grasp her elbow and lead her to the dance floor, pulling her flush against his body. "Aren't you tired of running from me?" She felt his warm breath on her earlobe and shivered.

"Running? I've not been running."

She was so close to him that she felt the vibrations of his loud guffaw against her own chest. "Alright, so what would you label what you've been doing?"

"Protecting my-."

"Flatty, I swear to God if you say your heart..." he faded out as he sighed. They fell into a silence as they swayed to the beautiful melody. "This is our song you know." She let out a shaky breath, knowing it was the truth. "Your four months are up."

"I-I know." she replied.

"Now I'm taking matters into my own hands." She backed away from him, staring into the emerald eyes she had fallen for. Looking around herself, she decided she didn't want to deal with this mess right where everybody could listen. She turned on her heel and walked away, knowing that Jason would be following behind her, until she reached a secluded hallway.

"Jason, I can't be with you." She looked up into his face and saw that he had clenched his jaw and through the stubble around she noticed his jaw tick. "I appreciate you giving me four months to clear my head but- this is the decision I've come to."

"You're pregnant."

She blinked. "I know."

"With my child."

"I know."

He took a step towards her. "You're being stupid."

She dropped her gaze. "Dammit, I know." she whispered. She cleared her throat. "But this is the best decision for me. I have to think about me first for once. I don't want to get hurt in the long run."
