The wind whipped through the car windows and her hair flew wildly with it. Driving like this gave her a certain feeling of freedom that was hard to find without him and God did she miss him.

"Stop." She whispered to herself and turned up the songs on the radio to try and drown out the memories. She wasn't supposed to be thinking of him, she wouldn't let herself.

The car turned a familiar corner and she found herself staring at the beautiful colours reflected on the trees from the sunset above. She had missed this small road in the months she had been gone. La Push seemed different after being away for so long.

As she drove past his driveway, Ava willed herself not to look at his house. She might not have been able to resist and she couldn't handle seeing him right now.

The welcome back home was easy. Quil and Joy seemed to understand her pain and gave her the space she needed. Ava was assured that Paul was in pain too, but she didn't want to hear his name.  He had come over multiple times in the last few days but wasn't allowed past Quil or Joy.

Since that day, she hadn't left the house in fear of seeing him again, but she couldn't hide forever.
