With astonishing speed, I grabbed a huge chuck of concrete out from the corner of the wall and with my strength; I rounded it by knocking off the rough edges. Then I bowled it down the hall knocking them all over, running over to them at such a speed it was astounding, I couldn’t believe that I could have done this the whole time, and never knew. But I had to stay focused, I see Commissioner Cutter in the corner of my eye, walk out from the staircase leading from the watch house with my Dad in a headlock, and a gun to his head. “Another step, and I’ll kill him, I can do that Vince. I know you don’t want that.”
I couldn’t help but with a quick flash disarm Cutter, and grabbing my father “Where’s Lucy, Cutter?” I exclaimed.
“I don’t know, I swear that’s the honest truth.” he replied, surprised I just took his only bargaining chip from in a matter of seconds. I then felt a tap on my shoulder, and a kiss on my cheek.
“I’m right here, baby,” Lucy said from behind me “It’s ok. I’ve got this pig.”
I then saw Cutter suddenly drop to the floor, and his head bounce six times, by itself on the floor of the station. I still couldn’t see, Lucy but I something was telling me she was behind this. Blood started to drizzle from his forehead, and then Cutter was floating in the air, eyes nearly popping out of his skull as if he was being choked. Then he fell to the floor, unconscious with a loud thud. Lucy started to show herself, I smiled when I saw her, I couldn’t believe she had the gene to, it’s probably why we got along so well.
She started walking over to me, still slowly becoming more visible. “You came back for us?” she asked, as she wrapped her thin petite arms around my neck and kissed my lips. “I love you.”
I looked at Dad, who was still in complete utter awe over the situation. I couldn’t believe they actually recognised me “Well how do I put this,” I said scratching my head.
“Just get to the point, Vince, where is Susan?” Dad demanded.
“Ok, she’s safe Dad," I said. “Once I found that out I could hear Lucy screaming, I couldn’t stop thinking about helping her.”
"So if Susan is safe where is she?" Dad asked.
"I don’t know exactly, but I know she is safe. I heard her laughing, when I heard Lucy scream," I replied, before I went into further detail about how, Indino he helped me, find my powers. Then my ears caught on to the sound of heavy footsteps close by. "We can’t stay here we have to go now."
"What’s the matter?" Lucy asked.
“No time to explain, we got to leave now!” I shouted.
The footsteps grew louder, I could hear orders being given out, but verifying if it was police or the military, I just wasn’t sure. "Either more cops are coming or the army are on their way. Lucy, can you fly?"
"Fly?" she asked, "I just found out I can render myself invisible."
"You’re going to have to take my Dad out of here; I'm going to have to hold them back. Just go over the harbour bridge I'll meet you there," I insisted, spotting an officer in the corner of my eye. "Look just go, get out of here now!"
"Alright we are going, be careful Vince," Dad said. “I’m proud of you, boy."
After Dad finally left with Lucy, the police showed up not long after. Shocked to see me, they start firing. I just looked at them, shaking my head as I walk towards them slowly. Bullets ricocheted off my chest and face, and hit officers and the surrounding walls and appliances. I step over the out cold Commissioner Cutter, and towards a senior sergeant, and put my index finger into the barrel of his gun, "It doesn’t have to be like this," I said. "We can work together." He punched me in my jaw. "We don’t have to fight." I continued.
