I woke up by someone shaking me.
"Hayleyyy. hayleyyyy. hayley !" Liz shook me until I woke up.
"Huh? what?" I rubbed my eyes like a child. I learned that from Luke.
"You know.." Liz sat up on Luke's bed right beside me.
"Luke does that too" She gave a slight smile. I could tell she really missed the boys too.
"When he wakes up he always does the whole "huh? what?" thing and rubs his eyes as if he were 8" She half smiled, looking down in her lap as she fiddled her thumbs.
"Where do you think I got it?" I giggled. She let out a small chuckle.
"You really miss the boys.. don't you?" I asked looking at her with a serious face.
"Yeah. I haven't been without my babies for this long like... ever .." She wiped away a tear droplet from her already red, tear stained cheek. I grabbed ahold of her hands.
"It's okay, Mom. You can see them whenever you like" I smiled, giving her hand a slight squeeze.
You could see that she felt more at ease, but she began to sniffle a little and had a huge smile on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked worried.
"Nothing. Nothing. It's just.. you've never directly called me Mom before" She smiled from ear to ear, wiping away her tears. I gave her a huge hug.
"Well, that's what you are to me! You're like the mother I never had"
"What about your mom?"
"My parents don't care about me and they always say that they don't want me" I let out a sigh. I guess I was just done crying and feeling sorry for myself because the people I'm supposed to call my parents don't love me. The truth to it all is, Liz is better. Liz cares. Liz is fun. She's amazing! She's a better parent than my parents will ever be!
"I'm so sorry sweetie! That's awful! You can stay here as long as you like and whenever you'd like!"
"Thanks" I smiled sweetly at her.
"so why aren't you in school young lady?" She narrowed her eyes and cocked an eyebrow.
"Wellll...." My voice got all high pitched.
"I kinda got expelled because I beat the shit out of this girl that bullied me since middle school.. she's also the most popular girl in school" I busted out into a fit of laughter, without much reasoning.
"Well it looks like she got what she deserved!" Liz high-fived me and kissed my cheek before walking out of the room.
I didn't think she would take my expulsion so easily but she's okay with it so i'm fine.
Liz brought me home some icecream and watched some movies with me. We had a few classics. Breakfast club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles.
After we had gone through the movies, it was already time for bed. Liz and I slept on the couch me at one end, her on the other. We had separate blankets because we both don't like to share blankets all that much while we sleep.
My thoughts began to proliferate as I fell into a deep sleep.
I had an amazing but weird dream. Amazing because it was cute and all, but weird because I enjoyed it?
