In love, you do not learn how to sacrifise life but you learn how to live it.

"Grandma!" I shout greeted her when I entered her house.

Grandma came out of the kitchen with a knowing smile on her face.

Her pale face showed her sickness. Even with the twinkle in her eyes, she looked old and fragile. Her grey head was getting bald and her wrinkles were getting deeper.

"You mum said you were on your way, five hours ago." she said.

I smiled sheepishly at her and held her hands to twirl her around.

"It's a guy, isn't it?" she asked while looking at my smiling face.

"Yes but you can't tell anyone yet." I said.

"Come on. Let's sit down and hear all about it." she said and took me to the kitchen. Her kitchen was the old fashion huge one which always smelled like a bakery.

"I made you your favourite chicken with pineapple pie." she said.

We sat down around the island with the pie between us.

"So who is he?" she asked.

Okay so I might have told her about there being a guy but there is no freaking way I'm gonna talk about him!

"He's a guy." I told her slowly.

She gave me an unimpressed look.

"Yes, so you told me." she said.

"He's in my school." I added hoping she will drop it.

"Yes, I guessed that as well. Tell me about him."

"He's great." I said awkwardly.

"Seriously Ace, that's not very helpful. Anyway I know you don't want to talk about it just tell me when do I get to meet him?"

I sighed in releif when she dropped it.

"Soon." and with that I took a fork full off pie.

"Your glowing Ace." she said suddenly. I chocked.

"What the fudge are you talking about?" I ask.

"Your glowing honey. Your eyes are shining and you're happy." she told me.

"I thought I was alway like this?" I said and started eating again. My grandma has lost it.

"Act like you can't see it but I know. Your mother was saying the same thing." she said.

"I'm always like this." I repeated.

"No. Ace listen to me." she suddenly said very firmly that it made me snap my eyes towards her. I raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Let it go." she said.

"I have grandma." I said in confusion.

She stared at me for a while and then nodded. She believed me.

"I just thought that after him you would never be the same again." she said queitly.

"I'm Ace Adams ma, I will always get back to myself." I said and gave her a grin.

"You're too arrogant, child." she said but smiled.

"It's like saying your too Ace, Ace." I said and started eating my pie again. God, it was good.
