Emma, i'm so sorry about last night. Can we please talk so I can explain?

--

I rolled my eyes before setting my phone down.

After getting dressed I went to take my coffee cup to the kitchen when Harry was sitting at the bar.

I looked down at the ground as I washed out the cup and then put it in the dishwasher, glancing up at him.

His cheeks were tinted red and he cleared his throat when his eyes accidentally caught mine, his expression hard as stone.

"I didn't- I didn't mean for that to-"

"Stop talking." He ordered, his voice dark.

"Harry." I looked up at him. "You don't have to act like I murdered your puppy. We fell asleep. It's awkward and weird but we're both at fault."

"No. This should've never happened in the first place."

"But it did! And it won't happen again!"

He got out of his chair and stormed away but I wasn't having that. I jogged over to him and grabbed onto his arm to stop him but was spun around, my back hitting the wall.

"Honestly?!" I exclaimed, looking at him with wide eyes.

One of his hands pressed my waist to the wall and I watched as his other hand moved up to my face. His skin touched my cheek and I flinched a bit before letting him.

His head was moving closer to mine, and I could feel his breath against my skin, the peppermint and coffee scents making my head spin.

His grip on my waist tightened, and as I finally came to realise what was about to happen, a knock on the front door made us pause.

I looked into his green eyes that were staring into mine.

Whoever it was knocked at the door again.

"Emma, its Mom!"

I gasped before shoving Harry away from me, tripping over my feet as I fled away from him, my heart beating so fast it felt like it was about to fly out of my chest.

When I reached the door I looked back at Harry to see him clenching his fists as he looked in the general direction of me.

I took a breath before opening the door, finding my Mom standing at the door in her Chanel dress and handbag, her designer sunglasses tucked in her hair.

"Mom. What are you doing here?" I asked her, my eyes wild.

"I felt it was time I paid you a visit." She gave me a knowing smile, but I could see in her eyes she was here for another reason.

She stepped in and looked around the apartment.

"It looks lovely." She smiled. "Even better in person."

She took another step before looking to her left to see Harry.

"Ah, Harry." She smiled before walking over to him to shake his hand. "How are you doing?"
