Short little Authors note at the beginning of this chapter! So I'd like to say thank you to @leigha_michaela for the amazing cover she has created for the book! I absolutely love the book cover. Leigha, you're an amazing cover creator and don't you forget it!
Another shout out goes to @ShortlyListening She also made an amazing cover for me to use, I thought she deserved some sort of credit for her creating a cover for me as well. Gracie, you made a great cover for this story as well and if you enjoyed creating covers then don't let anyone stop you from doing so!
I just wanted to get that out for those two girls who helped me with my new cover! Both covers will be posted down below.
Chapter 17: The Visit Part 4
We headed into the house where my grandparents were waiting for us to return. "Sorry we didn't get back sooner, I...I had to stop at the cemetery to see her." I said.
"It's okay sweetie, I understand. Your mom is a person you can't ever live without." Grandma said to me.
I nodded in agreement. Grandpa stood up and looked directly at Zach before speaking. "Let's go, son, you're back just in time to have that talk."
Zach looked at me before leaving the room with my grandpa. I laughed for a bit. "Serves him right! He owes me anyway." I said while laughing.
"Lena," I heard my grandma say. I turned to look at her.
"Yes?" I asked confused.
"We need to talk." She said in a serious tone.
"What about him?" I said.
"Lena, those bruises on your arms a fresh, like within the last day fresh. They don't look like bruises that you get from falling, they look like ones when someone is torturing you, abusing you."
I sat down next to her on the couch. I placed my phone on the table so it's more comfortable to sit down. "Zach isn't like Luke. Sure Zach is in with the bad boys at school, but that doesn't make him a bad person on the inside." I explained to her.
"That doesn't mean he isn't a bad person. For all you know he could be a serial killer and is trying to get close to you because it would be easier to get rid of you that way." She said to me.
"But he didn't do this to me. I did this to myself with being clumsy. That's all." I said trying to explain to her. I couldn't let her know that her own son beats his own daughter. She was about to speak again but was cut off when Zach and my grandpa came back into the room with the shut of the door.
I looked up at them and noticed Zach was paler than normal, which caused me to laugh at him. "I warned you, but you didn't listen to a thing I said," I told him while laughing. He glared at me for it, but it was more of a playful glare than an I-hate-you glare.
