I nodded. We watched him as he climbs upstairs before we could start talking.
"Boyfriend?" Rafael asked, arching an eyebrow.
Well, I actually didn't want to lie to him but I could be a little crazy. I smirked, "That's none of your business. Come inside."
"No, I'm fine here," he said, then he pressed a hard line on his lips, "Okay. Just hear me out, before you share the shower with him."
Damn, how could he think like that about me? I can't believe him! "Talk,"
"Listen, my uncle's coming and he's taking his son to the meeting."
I frowned, "Your cousin? Mateo? Why would he do that?"
"Simple. He wants his son to compete with me."
"Oh, that's bad news."
"Yes, so I need you to do something."
I nodded firmly, "What can I do?"
"The expansion is currently under your name. He's going to try to talk to you. I know him so well. He will do anything just to get the project in his hands."
I sighed, "Well, that's really bad. But don't worry about it, Rafe. I can handle it."
"Thanks," he bit his lip, "God! Clara, you don't have an idea how critical this is,"
"Relax. You had bypassed your uncle before. You can do it again. Wait," I frowned, "Why are you here so early?
"So I could give you a ride. I didn't know you were busy."
"I could get a cab. This is so unlike you. You never gave me a ride."
"Why do you like taking a cab so much?" He asked.
"Paolo can give me a lift,"
"Paolo?" he frowned.
I nodded, "You just met him,"
"He's... He's Paolo?"
"Yes, the one and only,"
A sigh of relief escaped Rafael's lips. "You didn't tell me,"
"You make wrong conclusions all the time, Rafe." I shook my head.
"I'm sorry. Okay? You were talking about dating and settling down. What do you expect?"
I heaved out a sigh, "Ugh, why don't you just come in and I'll just get ready?"
He nodded then he came inside my apartment. He walked into the living room and sat.
"Can you wait for me here?"
I quickly went upstairs to go freshen up. I took a shower and then immediately put my office clothes. I noticed Paolo came in as I found his reflection in the mirror. He smiled at me.
"You're pretty," Paolo said.
"Thanks," I smiled back.
He smirked at me and folded his hands on his chest.
"So, he's your boss, huh?" he asked.
"My boss, yes." I grabbed the compact powder on my purse and then I began patting the sponge on my cheeks.
"Oh... He seemed fine. You look good together," he joked with a chuckle.
I rolled my eyes. "Ugh, not you, little bro."
