CLARA

I woke up early the next morning. I just couldn't sleep. I was still thinking about my boss. I wondered if he already ate his breakfast. Did he set up his alarm? Was he getting ready for today's meeting?

My eyes were still tender, I barely looked at the man in my kitchen. I wasn't used to having an accompany in my apartment. It was my brother wearing his blue jogging pants and a white towel on his shoulder.

"Morning sis." he greeted. I could smell the pancake he just put on a plate from the frying pan.

"Oh, good morning!" I yawned. I sat on the dining chair.

"The park has changed so much. Damn it has a lot of people now. The gym I used to go isn't there anymore so I just went out for a long run. Sit down, sis." he turned then he placed the pancake in front of me, then he poured some strawberry syrup.

"Wow, thanks. How about you? Did you eat?" I asked.

"Nope, I'm starving but I might take a shower first, I'm filthy and sweaty." he smiled and looked at me.

I ate another spoonful of pancake and noticed him he's staring at me. "What?" I asked.

"You look stressed; did you sleep?" he frowned.

"I can't sleep." I sighed.

"Still thinking about your boss?"

I nodded.

"You know the answer to your questions. Are you having second thoughts?"

"I should not be, right? I mean it's impossible."

He shrugged, "Well...he probably thinks you're pretty."

"Is that a compliment after you just said I looked stressed?" I raised an eyebrow. "Ugh, and can we please stop talking about my boss already?"

"Okay! Okay," he chuckled. "I'll just get a shower.

I grinned, shaking my head, "Wait. So are you going-"

Ding Dong! Ding Dong!

I was suddenly cut off when I heard the doorbell chimed.

Paolo frowned, "Expecting someone?" he asked.

I shrugged, "Can you open the door for me?" I grinned. "Thanks, brother."

"Okay," he ran to the door when he stopped.

"Who is it?" I shouted.

"Hmm... I don't know, Clars." his voice echoed back in the entire apartment.

"I need to see Clara." I heard a strong familiar voice.

Rafe, damn it.

Ugh! Why was he here this early in the morning? I stopped eating then went to the door. Paolo stood still.

Rafe scowled at me and Paolo. He arched up an eyebrow. "I need to talk to you," he said, but his eyes didn't leave my brother.

"I told you that I am going to the office today."

"I just want to make sure."

Make sure that I'll come? Didn't he believe me then?

"Please?" He said.

I sighed. "Can you give us a moment?" I told Paolo.

Paolo glared back, "I'll just take a shower."
