Kwon Hyori had so many possibilities and could've had everything.

Whatever she desired, she could grasp anything with her own two hands. There were no boundaries set. Out of the countless career choices, she had the liberty to choose any path she wanted to as she had the endurance, talent, and luck to succeed.

Hyori had so many possibilities but refused them all.

Instead, she denied reality in its entirety and turned her imagination and literature into her getaway. Unlike the dullness of her everyday life, action-packed mystery stories filled with complexity, gripping thrillers which captivated her from the first page on and awe inspiring poetry made her feel at ease. Some works were evocative, others heartbreaking, but all of them ultimately led to Hyori's personal satisfaction.

Her head had been in the clouds for so long and she wouldn't come to realization anytime soon. Literature was her only joy in life.

Some saw Hyori's faults and tried to get her better. It was one person in particular who crossed some lines so that the girl would come to her senses.

"Look, I know that you only mean well, but I already elaborated at least six times in the past that I don't appreciate you creating profiles on dating websites for me," Hyori had sighed in distress after shoving her phone screen up her roommate's face. "Eunha, this needs to stop."

Kang Eunha, her roommate as well as her best friend since middle school. Incredibly stubborn and loved to force her ideals on others, Hyori included. Nonetheless, the two had always got along well with each other which was surprising, to say the least. Maybe it was Hyori's ability to endure Eunha's constant pestering that led to the long-lasting bond they had. Of course, even Hyori had her limits as to how much more she let her do whatever she wanted to.

Surely it hadn't been the first time Hyori found pictures of herself on dating sites. The first time she had found out was when she had borrowed Eunha's laptop without permission. Even though she had asked Eunha to delete the account, which she had done in the end, her friend continued making new ones until she had caught them too.

"Okay, this will be the last. Seriously!" Eunha had raised both of her arms in defeat. "I promise I will stop, but under one condition."

Hyori had no other option but to agree and that's how she ended up at her current location.

The cafe was only semi busy, the few customers chatting in a moderate tone and the brimming produced by the coffee machines in the background. Hyori was sitting at a table for four in the back of the space, one leg crossed over the other as she was having an inner debate on what to order.

"Should I take the macchiato with caramel shot or a large milk tea?" she peaked over the menu card at her friend sitting across from her.

Eunha rolled her eyes at the question, fingers tapping an irregular beat on the mahogany table. "Take the cheaper one - but don't order now."

She sent Hyori a warning look before lowering her head and focusing on her phone again. The other girl mumbled incomprehensible words under her breath, saying that it was painfully obvious that she wouldn't place her order immediately.

After taking a mental note to go for the milk tea, she placed the card back in its original place and fished her phone out of her bag to kill time. In all honesty, she wasn't pleased, not even the slightest. Out of all things, Eunha had to organize a blind date.

She didn't understand why Eunha was so desperate for her to get a boyfriend in the first place. In the twenty-four years of living, she had never been in a relationship and was perfectly fine without one. The thought of being bound to someone on such an intimate level wasn't necessarily her cup of tea. She didn't want nor did she need somebody who'd complete her. Unfortunately, Eunha had a different opinion.
