"I don't wan't you going to college" Her mother frowned as she folded clothes on the couch.

"I don't want her to go to college with the nigga they call Hareem" Daddy scowled. "I'm going to be disappointed in you if you end up pregnant"

"No way no how" Renny said. Him and I are roommates. No funny shit"

"Renny's  just disrespectful. And we all going to the same college. Why you don't care if I go, ma?" Jayvon asked.

"Because Daelin's my only girl"

"With a nigga name" Daddy said, making me look at him.

"Why'd you allow it on my birth certificate?" I asked.

"I'm the one that named you. I wanted another boy"

I sucked my teeth.

Mom smiled at me "Ignore your father. That's where your brother gets their-"

"Charm from?" Jayvon smiled.

"I'll just finish packing" I stood up, and went into my room.

-

"I'd rather you like girls" Daddy sat one of my bags down in my dorm room.

"It's time to go. Your sons would like for you to go visit them"

My roommate had already chosen her half of the room, but she wasn't here.

"I'll be back" He walked out of the open door.

I went to go close it, but it opened in my face.

What a way to greet a roommate.

"Hey" Vice walked into my room and sat on my bed.

My father walked back into the room. "Nigga, I was looking at you before you even turned the hallway to look in here"

"I was uh - damn, you seen my phone DaeDae?"

"Nuh uh" I turned away from both him and my father.

"And why would you think your phone was on her bed?" Daddy questioned.

"I didn't, sir"

"You been on her bed?" He asked.

"No, sir I just got here"

"I'm glad you said that cause now, I'll show you to your room" Daddy grabbed him by the shoulder and made him get up before they left.

I think that deep down, daddy actually liked him. He was just being protective over me.

I turned to face the full sized bed that Daddy got me and tore off the plastic that it was wrapped in and struggled to tug it out from underneath.

"Oh hello" A white girl pulled her bag closer to her body and held on to her necklace.

Are you serious?

"Hi" I balled up my plastic and stuffed it into my trash can.

Jayvon knocked before walking into my room. "Hey, beautiful" He sat on my fresh bed.

"Thank you. Hello" My roommate said.

He laughed. "Nah, I wasn't talking to you, but I seen you though Becky"

"Oh, how'd you know my name?"

"I just call everyone Becky" He stood up and left the room.

Pointless. Just pointless.

I grabbed my phone and my key before following behind Jayvon.

"What does your dorm look like?" I questioned.

"Something you won't see"

"And why not?"

We walked for a few minutes in silence.

"You gone fold my clothes still right?" He questioned.

"No"

"What's the point of having a sister then?"

"To take out to eat"

"I'll take you out to eat if you fold my clothes" He walked up to a door and stuck his key in before turning the handle.

A bunch of niggas were sitting all over the place.

"Oh" I spoke more to myself.

"Come on in, shawty. Have a seat"

"How long you been knowing Jayvon?"

Jay scowled and looked at me. "You not coming back in here"

"Since birth" I told him.

"So you single? You look like you ain't worried about no boys"

"My dad was just with him. He making him give him a tour of the school. And I hate all y'all" Jayvon said.

Vice walked in with my father right behind him.

"Fuck y'all luh churn' staring at?"

"Nothing, sir. How do you like the campus?"

Daddy turned to me. "If any nigga giving you a problem, just call so I can shoot somebody. I'm bouta go cause your mother ain't tryna drive at all"

He hugged me, and pushed Jayvon back a step. "Bye" and walked out.
