What A Cruel World, Wouldn't You Agree?

She was Junmyeon's lady and the only one that he'd ever have eyes for. What a shame that his lady belonged to someone else.

~~~~~
You couldn't bare it. The bridal store felt like it was closing in on you, your mother's constant chattering and suggestions making you feel light-headed. Anyone else would be incredibly happy, jumping in joy at the thoughts and arrangements for their wedding- but not you. Not you because of the fact that the man you were to marry was not the one you were in love with. Park Jae Sun was not Kim Jun Myeon.
"Darling, you have to choose! Lilac or lavender-" You interrupted the overly excited woman, rubbing your temples in frustration. "Mother, what even is the difference between lilac and lavender?" you asked, voice full of clear defiance and sarcasm. You were tired, just tired of having to pretend that you still loved the man that was supposed to wait at the alter for you in three months time when in fact your love for him had died once your eyes set on him. Just the thought of Junmyeon sent butterflies in your tummy.
You were snapped away from your thoughts by your mother's tutting and disapproving look. "Y/N why are you so blah blah blah-" her shrill voice ran through one ear and out the other, your eyes glazed over in boredom. "Honestly! It's like you aren't even interested in this wedding anymore!" she shrieked, throwing up her manicured hands in the air. The last comment made you hold back a snicker because hell, she was right. You weren't interested, you weren't happy.
In response, you rolled your eyes and looked down at your watch- the one Junmyeon gifted you with on your 27th birthday. Funny enough how your secret lover remembered your birthday when your fiancé couldn't even remember what your favorite color was. Junmyeon knew your favorite color, your favorite food, your favorite movie, etc. Kim Jun Myeon knew your god damn kinks and exactly how to pleasure you while your fiancé couldn't even find out how to turn you on. "I need some air," you muttered, standing up from the outrageously lavished couch. A sudden urge erupted in you, your hands clutching you phone and purse tightly. "Do hurry. Your dress will be here any minute and we still need to do alterations," the woman said, giving you a pointed look.
You waved her off and took long and hurried strides to the exit of the bridal store, your phone held up to your ear calling the only person that will forever be your saving grace. You stood outside the New York streets, the spring rain coming down lightly in front of you.
"What is it my dear?" his soft and gentle voice rang through the device, making you smile in delight. "Can I come over? I just...just need someone to talk to," you said softly. There was a pause on the other end, Junmyeon most likely putting down his paint brush and leaning against the glass balcony doors of his apartment. You could just imagine it. "Of course. Should I get the tea or wine ready?" You laughed lightly in response, hand already outstretched as you motioned for a cab.
"Tea. And if you have blueberry muffins, get those ready too."
Your heels clicked lightly down the corridor of the apartment complex, the one you found yourself residing in for the past six months. Six months of this secret relationship and to tell the truth, they are the best six months of your life. You felt loved, warm and happy. That's what you seek and that's what you received from your lover. But the question remained- why were you still with Jaesun?
Because you were afraid of disappointing your parents. Because as annoying and demanding as they were, you still loved them. And you will always find yourself seeking for their approval. Their happiness always came before yours and yet here you are, knocking on Junmyeon's door fully knowing that you couldn't give a damn if your "dear sweet" parents found out you were having an affair with the painter that made your father's portrait.
