Fragile thumps echo in the night,
a fading presence fills me with respite.
Reminiscing of better days,
sorrow quelled in the arms of a maid.
A single touch that could make bitterness fade,
now left alone and helplessly afraid.
I reach out to feel her warmth,
yet the icy grip of nothingness is once again brought forth.
The days I spent with her are nothing but a memory,
her smile taken away by a disease.
For this sorrow there is no remedy,
her broken frame laid to rest beneath the crying seas.
She is gone forever,
my pain will stay the same.
As long as my heart continues to endeavour,
her ghost will still remain.
