"Nathaniel, don't you dare screw this up or I'll screw you." I heard laughter from the other side of the line when he asked me what type of screwing I'll do to him.
"Cazzo!" He's still laughing and I just hissed. Then he finally said yes on the matter that we were discussing on.
"Bye Nate, I still need to finish things here. Tell Race I miss her and we'll meet again." He replied with a chuckle and said goodbye. That dude, he never changed. He always goofs around and by goofing I mean bad goofing. He's a self-proclaimed enthusiast who likes girls but he's sweet, at times, depending on his mood. He's typically a rich man who handles his parents' company and is half Japanese. He's a model, a businessman, a racer, I guess? But I was lucky enough I met him because if not then there's no one else who can do this trick for me. After all, he's the only businessman I know apart from Carl.
I threw my smartphone in my bag and took the car keys. But before I left I checked myself in the mirror.
"Not a bad look for a bad day." I muttered as I fix my dress. Black is powerful, red is courage, but a blue color emanates the presence of balance between the two. Plain is good and it's neat. I look at my bed and the bags on it and piles and piles of clothes. I shook my head and headed out of my unit.
As I drove my way to their company I can't help but think if what I am doing is really the right thing to do. I sighed deeply and breathed in a big amount of air as I hit the gas pedal to reach my destination.
My phone pinged a couple of seconds before I pressed the home button. It's a message from Carl and he's asking me where I am. I looked at my rear mirror to check my face. Well, Dani, you're about to die but you looked perfectly fine. Unless you see straight through your eyes how nervous you are for this meeting. I took the bag that contains all the files that I needed and went out of my car. I replied to his message by saying that I'm about to enter his company.
I roamed my eyes around the place. It's still the same, still big, still gives you the presence of a powerful company, and still cold. Weeks after I stepped here in Melbourne I decided to visit this company. I was a bit curious about how it looked like. And then when I entered this place back then, well what I felt now is the same as before.
The receptionist asked me if I have a schedule for today and I said yes and gave my name. She smiled at me and a man showed up to escort me to the room where I should be going. He opened the door and I entered the room. There's still no one in it so I made my way to prepare for my files and opened my laptop to connect it to the projector.
"You're early." That shook the hell out of me. I was too preoccupied to not even notice that someone already entered the room. And I'm thankful that it was him and not his father. I turned around to face him and smiled.
"I don't wanna be late. It gives a bad impression." I repled and he just nodded. He is not in the mood so I guess something happened. I looked at him and then he looked away. That. Was. Painful. Then I saw Eris enter the room. I looked on my laptop before she can even look at me. She's still a beauty. She's sexy and beautiful. If I'm gonna talk about the classical era she's one of the accomplished young ladies. She knows how to sing, how to play an instrument, she can dance, and she's intelligent alright. She's certainly a fearsome thing to behold just like what Elizabeth Bennet said.
"Dani?!" I am awakened from my thoughts as she suddenly hugged me. I patted her back and looked at Carl as he half-smiled at me.
"How are you Eris?" Spoken while not looking at her and focusing on the slides of my PowerPoint.
"I'm fine. You?"
"I'm good." I replied.
"Girls, you can both talk later after this meeting because Dad's gonna be here any minute." We both nodded at his statement. Eris sat on one of the chairs and Carl sat beside her. My guess was right. Eris will be here and I still don't know if she will remain as a friend or become a foe.
