Hayden's POV

I had finally gotten that stupid boot off of my leg. I was still able to go to the force. Things seemed to be getting a bit better. Of course I always had my other half helping me; God knows how much I did need her.

"Get your ass up Hayden! It's take your kid to work day." I groaned and rolled out of bed. My dad opened my room door and looked around. I guess maybe for Blair, but she went home last night.

"Why'd you pick me?" I asked him, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. He shrugged.

"Do I need a reason? Get dressed and come downstairs right after. And don't take your time." He closed the door and I stared at it. I smiled a little and got up. Maybe he picked me for a good reason. I know, it could be because he wants to show me "the real world" as he calls it... but I'm hoping it's because deep down he still does see me as his little girl who he loved to spend time with and show off.

Anyway, I got dressed and sent a quick message to Blair before I went downstairs. I knew she wouldn't be awake, so I told her to text me when she was.

I went downstairs and Mom and Dad were sitting there talking. Dad was drinking his coffee and Mom looked up when I came in.

"Good morning Honey." She handed me a plate of food and I kissed her cheek.

"Good morning Mom and thank you." I began eating as they kept talking.

"Yeah but I'm starting to think she's angry with me." I looked up at Dad with my eyebrows raised.

"Who?"

"Blair's mother. I've talked to her about our two families having a dinner together, but she isn't fond of it."

"Yeah... she doesn't quite like me again." He frowned.

"Again? For what?"

"Well, the break Blair and I had when I broke my leg. She didn't like it. Then, I got caught sneaking Blair out of the house one night. I just wanted to take her on a date. She thought Blair and I were trying to have sex. But why sneak her out when I could just do that there?" I mumbled the last part and Mom frowned at me while Dad kinda laughed.

"Hayden!" She warned and I grinned sheepishly.

"Why hide it, you both know what's happening here. Anyway, she told Blair that she won't make a fuss about it to Blair, but she sure glares at me anytime I'm there. I'm just glad she maintains their relationship."

"Why wouldn't she just let the two of you go out?" Dad asked.

"Well, she said that Blair had been with me the whole week and she needed to study for a test. But Blair and I had already studied that whole day and she really deserved a break so I snuck her out. I was actually banned from going over there, but her dad still let me in. That's a good man there." I grinned to myself.

"Aww honey." Mom said frowning.

"Huge step up from sneaking girls out for drugs." I rolled my eyes.

"Dad, it's been like five months please just forget that stuff." He raised his hands in submission.

"I am! I'm just saying, I'm glad it's changed, you know?" I smiled and nodded.
