Keira

The vibrating of my phone woke me up at 2 a.m. Rolling over I rub the sleep out of my eyes and look at the text.

Unknown number.

I open up the text that read, Hi again! Long time no talk, eh? How's a going Keira? It took me a minute to recognize the number as Ashton's. Frustrated, and slightly cranky, I type back how he waken me up.

What? It's like 2 in the afternoon and you're still asleep? Confused I reread the text. 2 in the afternoon? It's not even daylight out.

Ashton, it's 2 in the morning. Your clock must be messed up, and you must not go outside very often because it's not even daylight, let alone the afternoon. Sighing, I flop back back into a laying position on my bed and wait for Ashtons reply.

Uh Keira... You must not live in Australia... Because it's 2  in the afternoon... Australia? That would explain the afternoon part of the text.

No I don't live in Australia. I visited once... To many spiders for my liking. Why are you texting, me anyways? I press send and wait. And wait some more, and some more. After what seemed like an eternity he finally replied.

Scared of spiders eh? Well I hope you know that you are always within 5 feet of a spider Miss. Keira.

SERIOUSLY?! OMG OMG OMG OMG, I'M GOING TO DIE! AHHHHHHH! Ashton must have found my reply hilarious because he called me minutes later laughing like a lunatic.

"What's so funny Ashton?" I ask, my voice still sleep filled.

"Well I mean you're scared of spiders, and chances are there is one in your room right now." He says, still laughing.

"Ugh, whatever. You never answered my question. Why are you calling and texting me. I accidentally send a message to the wrong number, and here we are at 2 in the morning-"

"Afternoon."

"Whatever, anyway. Why are you still in touch with me. Didn't your parents ever tell you about stranger danger?" The line went dead silent. As if he had hung up. "Ashton, hello?"

A sigh came from the other end of the line. "Well if you're so into 'stranger danger', why are you answering my calls and texts? And why not text you. I mean, there's no rule saying you have to know the people you are friends with. If that was a rule then nobody would ever make any friends. Like ever," I sat and thought about his remark. he was right I tell myself. I mean if you had to know the person to be friends with them then nobody would have any friend at all.

"I guess you're right. So Australia, huh? That's pretty far away." I say, gladly changing the subject.

"Yeah, but I'm going to be in Los Angelos soon. We're leaving tomorrow to start recording our new album." He says.

"Wait, Los Angelos? We? and Album? Is there something you forgot to tell me?" I ask, suddenly wide awake.

"Uh yea. Do you live there? And my band, Luke, Michael, and Calum. And album... As in, album," Ashton's voice comes from the other end of the line, sounding as if it were obvious.

"Well yes I do live in L.A. And you totally are gonna pay for it, for not telling me you're in a band and recording an album! That's awesome!' I say, now sitting up right in bed.

Ashton chuckles from the other side of the line. "Sorry Keira. I thought you didn't want to talk to me, so I didn't say anything. Maybe we can met up somewhere. That's be fun." I heard another voice calling him from the other end of the line.

"It's a date, I guess." I say.

"Well Keira, I have to go. Luke's calling. Bye,"The phone line goes dead before I can say anything else.

Suddenly it sounds like I had a date with a guy I had never even met. Smart Keira, he might be a mugger or something.

Deciding to worry about it tomorrow, I put my phone down and pull the covers up to my chin, and am soon fast asleep.
