‘filthy.’

‘disgusting wench.’

‘smooch mwa hahahahaa.’

“Care to explain that?” Lexie and I asked Kyle. His locker was filled with marks of inky words which were totally out of the line. When Kyle opened his locker, a pile of dresses came out. Tutus and gowns were even added. Of course we have no idea what was happening, but our gut instinct’s already telling us something. Someone must have found out about his relationship with one of the three A’s, Aiden. not convinced that Aiden felt something for Kyle. It was probably just to make fun of him.

Lexie slammed Kyle’s locker shut back. “What happened?” See, Lexie and I were protective of Kyle. Kyle just didn’t think rationally. Even before, we were

“Nothing.” Kyle sighed, dropping his head a little.

“Kyle, that’s not nothing!” I grabbed his hand and made him look at me. “You know well enough that Aiden’s not really capable of loving someone. I’m not saying this because you don’t stand a chance, but seriously, look at what happened!”

Kyle pulled his hand away and glared at me. “You guys are not my babysitter, okay? I know I’m gay and all, but you didn’t have to treat me as if I’m freaking fragile! I know that this will happen soon enough.”

“We’re only concerned about you…” Lexie trailed off, her red hair dyed with streaks of black.

“Because you’re so tough you think you can protect everybody.” He said through gritted teeth, and then he turned to me. “Oh, and you’re the one who has the perfect love life, isn’t that right? You both have the perfect lives. Congratulations!”

“Why are you acting like this? We’re just trying to help.” I tried to reach out to him, really. But, it was no use. He wasn’t listening.

“I don’t need your help. I can handle this.”

Lexie still seemed taken aback by Kyle’s words that she started to punch him hard. “You’re our friend so of course we care! You know what, you’re right. You don’t need us.” She pushed Kyle away and slapped him. “Coward,” Lexie ran to the other side and left us.

Several students were already laughing and I shot them the ‘mind-your-own-business’ look. Although it was already the end of the day, people can’t help but shot Kyle a pitying glance.

I shook my head and gave out a shaky breath, “I’ll be around if you’ll need me.” With that, I left, too.

It was pretty unbelievable for Kyle to get mad at us. Usually he’d just shrug it off, the reason why we liked him so much as a great friend. But this was too much. I didn’t want Lexie to stop getting along with Kyle. The two of them were the best of friends before I even came along in the picture. Those two never fought like that before.
