•Amelia's POV•
"Make one mistake and you're fired"
His voice was ringing in my head. One mistake?! I was fidgeting with my hands and I completely forgot he was still standing there. "I asked you a question, what's your name?" I stood up trying to look more confident. "I'm Amelia Clair" I said with a polite smile on my face.

He looked at me as if he was studying me. "Fuck do I have something on my face??" I thought to myself as I wiped the corner of my mouth to find out there was nothing there. After a solid 20 seconds of silence, he finally spoke, making me jump a little. "Come into my office, there is some tasks for you." His voice was demanding and smooth. My face was warm and I could tell my cheeks had a red tint on it. I followed behind him, keeping a distance.

When we entered his office, I was amazed. There was large window that showed all of New York from above. The room was beautiful. The walls were a light tan colour and the furniture were all black.
"So, I'm pretty sure you've already heard that new workers cannot call me by my first name, it's only Mr.Blaine or sir, always be on time, and never ignore any of my calls." I took a seat on a chair across from his desk. His chair looked way more soft rather than the one I sat is, with wooden handles.
"I need you to bring me the forms for the Hasting Projects. It's with the people downstairs. Dismissed."

I sat there in shock. He spoke to me as if I was a soldier. He looked up from his papers with a questioning look. "Are you going to get up?" I could already tell he was getting impatient.
"R-right, sorry." I exit the room, making sure I closed the door silently. I let out a relieved sigh, releasing any tension that built up in my chest. "God, that was stressful."

I rushed downstairs and went to the first person I saw. He was sitting down, focused on a screen in front of me. "Excuse me, do you know where I can find the forms for the Hastings project?" He looked up from his computer. "Who's it for?" He had light brown hair along with brown eyes. "It's for Mr.Blaine" after I said that, his eyes immediately lit up. "Oh you're the new assistant? Good luck, babe. I feel so bad for the poor girl who used to have your job. I'm Kyle by the way" He handed me two folders. Suddenly I was curious about the previous assistant. "Wait. What happened to her?" He looked at me with a toothy smile. "Well, why don't we go out together for lunch and I will tell you all the little secrets about this place." I nodded my head and looked once more at his face. He was indeed very nice and I wouldn't mind a friend.

I hurried back up, not wasting anymore time. Once I reached his door, I was hesitant to knock. I took a deep breath. "Ugh, why am I so scared of him? What's the worst thing that can happen." I took a deep breath and knocked twice, just loud enough to hear. I walked in after a few seconds.

"Here's the forms to the Hastings project, is there anything else I can do for you?" He didn't reply so I took that as an indication to leave.

As I turned around, he grabbed my wrist. "Wait.." His grip was tight and for a split second, I saw an emotion in his eyes, but couldn't quite figure out what it was. "d-did I forget something?.." I was fearing for my job, saying prayers in my head, hoping not to get fired on my first day.

He stood up and started walking towards his window. "Do you remember what high school was like?" His back was facing me and I took the chance to admire his body. It was strong and firm, the suit hugging him perfectly.

He turned around after not receiving an answer and started to walk around.

"Your eyes.. They're so familiar" I made sure my voice was loud enough for him to hear, but it came out soft and weak.

He walked closer as I backed up to the wall, feeling a heat rise to my face from his staring. He lifted up my head with his index finger, making my brown eyes meet his, with a slight smirk.

"Have I changed that much? Or maybe your memory isn't as great as before?"
