I scanned the room absently as I waited for the class to begin, wondering where Jazzy was. The thought of her missing again made me sigh and drop my gaze to my lap.
A few minutes passed and the I looked down at my phone, thinking about texting Jazzy or something when I heard sounds from the front of the room. I lifted my head to see no other than Jazzy walked through the door being as casual as ever as if she didn't arrive 3 seconds before it started. I mentaly laughed, that is Jazzy for you.
After eyeing the room a few times, she finally spotted me and walked over, taking the empty seat I left next to me. She he didn't seem to care about the stares of most of the class as she turned to me,
"Hey," she said loudly making heads turn our way, "Whatever," she rolled her eyes as some kids glared at us, then turned to me.
"Hi," I raised my eyebrow at her, amused by the stunt she just pulled. The class had already started, but yet I couldn't bare to listen to anything the teacher was saying, instead I focussed my attention on Jazzy.
"What?"
I just shook my head a huge grin on my face. She once again rolled her eyes before asking me if I was okay. "I should ask you that," I whispered, not wanting to disturb the whole class, "I mean, I was worried something bad happened to you," I admited while I watched her expression.
"Don't worry about me," she dismissed it with a wave of hand, "Honestly," she pressed when I gave her a questionning look. I put my hands up in defence before she continued, "They always have someone watching over me somehow anyway." she said in a annoyed tone and I concluded that it has to do with her father's job. She was never safe. I nodded in acknowledgement.
We stayed silent for most of our class and before we knew it, it was over and we were proceeding outside of the building. We came to an halt as a huge black car stopped in front of us.
"Well, that doesn't scream mafia at all." I mumbled quietly to myself as I moved my gaze towards Jazzy with raised eyebrows.
"Exactly," she turned to me with extended arms in an obvious manner, "That's what I tell them all the time." she shook her head while letting her arms tump against the lenght of her body dramatically.
I chuckled at her desperate expression towards her family's way as someone came out of the car to open the back door for her. With a quick glance at the person standing in front of us, I guessed he was working for her dad, black suit and an expressionless face.
And I thought that discretion was required in mafia. Oh, well.
"Are you working tonight or you wanna hang out?" I heard Jazzy ask me while she nodded in greeting to the guy who held the door open.
"I have to work," I sighed before looking down at my phone and checking the time which was coming up to 2:45pm, "Sorry, I probably should get going now." I lifted my eyes and gave Jazzy an apologetic look to receive a small smile from her.
"I'll see you tomorrow then," she waved at me while making her way in the car.
"Bye," I did the same and began walking towards the shop after the car left.
The streets I became familiar with came into view as I approached my destination when I felt my phone buzzed in the back of my jeans. I frowned and opened it to see a call from an unknown number. I pressed ignore without making a big deal out of it.
After a moment, there was another call from the same unknown number that I ignored once again. Confused, I shook my head at the uneasy feeling I was getting from theses calls and went to put my phone back in my pocket when a text came trough, making me froze instantly.
