Chapter 13

Atem's POV

I have gathered my court to alert them of the coming disaster and to see what they wanted to do. I run through the doors into the throne room. "Pharaoh what has you so alarmed," asks Isis. "Zorc will rise in one day in the mortal realm. Yugi is going to be bringing us back if you are willing to go. The ceremony must be done tonight and we need to be there at the gate," I say. "I will go," says Seth and the rest of them nod. "We must get going right away," I say and we head outside. We get on our horses and set out for the Valley of the Kings. I somehow feel a presence guiding me towards where we need to go. Yugi I am coming.

Yugi's POV

"Tristan be sure that things are taken care of here," I say before gripping the reigns of my horse. "Wait Pharaoh," yells Mana and she and the rest of the gang come running up. "What is it," I ask. "We are coming with you," says Marik as he brings up a few more horses with a few more servants bringing more horses. "But this could be dangerous," I say. "We know and we don't want you to fight alone. We're always beside you pal," says Joey. "Besides you may need us for the ceremony," says Ishizu. I smile and nod at them and they mount their horses and we take off heading for the Valley of the Kings.

It is a long ride on horseback, but we reach the Pharaoh's tomb and we get off the horses. "Midnight is almost here," says Ishizu. "Lets get going we'll need to do this soon," says Marik. I nod and we descend into the tomb. "Bakura use the Millennium Key to guide us through this labyrinth," I say. "Guide us Millennium Key," says Bakura and it glows and Bakura starts to go forward. We follow him deep into the tomb until we get to a very large chamber. "Look it's a door similar to the one where we sent the Pharaoh to the afterlife," says Joey.

"This must be it. What do we do Mana," I ask. "You must recite these words while all of us present the items to the door and it should open," says Mana who hands me a picture. "Can you read them," asks Marik. "Yes I can come forward everyone," I say and we all stand in front of the door. "Oh legendary Gods of Egypt. I beg of thee to allow us access to the door to the afterlife. We present to thee the Millennium Items," I say and we hold up the items and they all glow brightly. "Accept this offering and as the Pharaoh of Egypt I command the door to open," I say and the eye on the door glows.

The hieroglyphics on the door glow and the door opens to reveal a white light. We all gasp and watch. The door continues to open and we see a figure in the door then 6 more. The first steps through the door and I smile and run up and hug him and he hugs back. "It's good to see you Aibou," says Atem. "It's good to see you too, but we don't have time for a big reunion right now," I say and watch as the rest of his court steps through the gate. "Wow now there's two of Ishizu," says Joey. "Actually my name is Isis," she says. "Let's go we need to figure out the place where Zorc will rise," Atem.

We go out of the tomb and up to the horses. Atem gets on the back of mine and each council member gets on with the respective member of my court who holds their Millennium Item. We all ride back to the palace and the sun will be up soon. "Let's go. I have the pictures out in the conference room," says Ishizu and we rush into the conference room. "Are these the inscriptions from the tomb," asks Seth. "Yes, this is everything we could find in the tomb," says Marik. "There has to be something here that tells us exactly where he will rise," says Mahad.

"I think it's in this set of pictures my Pharaohs," says Mana who sets some on top. "Yes, it speaks of a few things in these," says Atem. "Wait look at this," I say and pick one up. "Isn't that the Millennium stone," asks Karim. "Yes it is," says Atem. "It makes sense that he would rise from the resting place of the other items, but wasn't it destroyed when you and your vessel dueled," asks Seth. "It was, but I wonder what is left of it," I ask. "From what I saw, it was merely a pit," says Marik. "I wouldn't be so sure. Maybe there are enough pieces of the stone left for him to reemerge if given the time to recover and he's had 5000 years to do it," says Atem.

"We'll have to go and see for ourselves," says Shada. "In the meantime, Tristan evacuate the city to the mountains. This is the first place he will come to and I don't want the people in harms way. I have a feeling that no matter what we do, we can't stop him from returning. We can only prepare ourselves and come up with a plan to stop him," I say and Atem nods. "Karim, Shada go with him and assist in the evacuation and stay there to protect the people," says Atem. Ishizu hands them DiaDhanks. "These will allow you to summon your monsters as the tablets have been stored away. They'll connect to the monsters the wearer is most connected to," she says.

They nod and head out and she has more. Enough for each of us to have one. "Mana, Mahad you two need combine your magicians power and cast a spell to protect the city. Summon monsters, put up barrier, or anything else you have the ability to do," says Atem. "Shimon, my Grandpa is in a game shop just outside the palace walls. Can you please go to him and escort him to the caves. If I know him right he hasn't left yet," I ask and he nods grabbing a DiaDhank and going.

"The rest of us are going to look through this and figure out if there's a key to defeating him once again," I say and we sift through the pictures. "Are we sure he won't be put away the same way again," asks Marik. "I think he'll have learned from that and won't let it happen again," says Isis. "Unfortunately my ancient name won't work as it used to. I know it and he knows it. I may be able to summon Horakhty again, but I don't think it'll work the same way again," says Atem and the ground starts shaking. The Dark One is rising. It has begun.
