Epilogue

Isn't it interesting how nothing changes, yet when you look back everything is different ?

We often try to keep everything together by the attempt to keep things like they are because we are scared of the unknown. We are so focused on the good things to stay that we oversee the better things to happen.

The irony is that change is the only constant in life.

Everything changes, the people, the circumstances and you do too. Change is inevitable but progress is optional which means you have two options: you simply ignore it and desperately try to keep the status quo or you accept it and make the best out of it.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building the new.

Go with the flow and let things evolve naturally because hardly anything good happened by forcing it. Here is to the future because what has happened should stay in the past.

Sometimes, change is exactly what we need, no matter if it was purposely or not. You may lose something good but you may gain something better. If you don't take risks, you'll never be able to grow as a person.

Never stop trying to create the best version of yourself.

It is important to strive for what you want in life and nobody should keep you from doing that. Stop waiting for Friday, for summer or for the guy to finally fall in love with you. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most out of the moment you are in now.

Life is short. Time is fast. No replay. No rewind. So enjoy every moment as it comes.

Don't take shit from anybody, no matter if it's your best friend or the school's bad boy.

You don't need someone to complete you but you need a way to complete yourself. It is okay not to have a boyfriend and it is okay not to be madly in love with the star quarterback of your high school just because high school movies tell you that this is the ultimate goal. You don't have to live up to other peoples definition of yourself because you define who you are.

You do not have to be a nerd who suddenly turns out to be the dream girl of the school's Bad Boy to matter.

Be average, be ordinary and be proud of it because you don't need to be special just to fit in society's standards. There is a downside to everything and being popular is by no means an exception.

Fairy tale stories may be perfect but the reason why is because they are a product of imagery. You'll never live the life of a Teen Fiction nerdy girl in a Wattpad Bad Boy story but you are able to create your own fairy tale by making your own best case scenario, a scenario that is real and achievable.

Just because you are not like people in movies or books, it doesn't mean that you do not have the right to live a life that is worth living.

Don't wait for people to treat you better or for things to get better.

You have every right to say "Fuck off" and live happily ever after. You are not obliged to forgive someone just because they said sorry. If someone has broken your trust you have every right to walk out of that person's life.

Sometimes, it may be hard to leave something you truly try to hold on, even more if it is a person but you'll come to a point in your life when you have to ask yourself: "Do I miss the person or the memories we share ?"

From time to time, it is important to give people a second chance but be careful who you choose to grant that privilege.

Trust your intuition, be smart and don't judge someone to quickly because people are like books: do not try to form an opinion when you haven't even gotten to the second page.

Just because a book says "bad boy", it doesn't mean it's cliché and just because someone says "school slut", it doesn't mean the label is justified...

...and this is exactly why you should never judge a book by its cover.
