Waking up fully rested is a first for me. Usually, I'm in pain, I mean I still am in pain from the night before, but right now I feel better than I have in ages. I slowly got up and got dressed. I kept my tank top on and just slipped on a jacket to cover up my arms. I then put on a pair of jeans and my old pair of converse.
I applied makeup to my face to make sure none of the bruises were visible. Once I was finished I headed downstairs to the kitchen. There I found Diana already cooking. She looked at me and smiled. "What are you doing up so early on a Saturday? Most teenagers like to sleep in."
Yeah well, I'm not like most teenagers I can tell you that. "I always get up early on Saturday, it's sort of a habit," I said.
"Well, since you're up, how about you can help me with breakfast?" She asked. This caused me to smile. This was how my mom was before she—left.
"Sure," I said and we both began to cook.
I have to say it was one of the most fun mornings I've had in a while until someone threw pancake batter in my hair. I looked at Diana and she laughed, "It wasn't me sweetie." and pointed to the person behind me.
I closed my eyes and turned around to see Zach standing there with the bowl of pancake batter in his hands. He walked towards me with a smile. "Now, princess, I think you have a little something in your hair."
I backed up with every step he took causing me to back up into the counter, not able to move anywhere. Please don't hurt me, please don't hurt me. I repeated in my head. "Please don't hurt me," I said aloud.
Both Diana and Zach looked at me confused. I slide to the floor against of the cabinet. I pulled my legs up to my chest and laid my head down. "Please don't hurt me," I said once more subconsciously.
"Lena, sweetie are you okay?" Diana asked in a worried voice.
I didn't respond or look up until I heard my brother's voice. "What's going on in here?" He asked confused.
I felt his gaze on me. I heard the clicking of Diana's shoes walk towards Mack. "Mack, do you think you can tell us what's wrong with your sister?" Diana asked Mack.
I could tell that Mack tensed up, him glaring at me the whole time. "Yeah, sorry about her, bad experience as a child and she hasn't ever gotten over it. It's that right, Lena." Mack said with force in his voice.
"Y-Yes," I said scared out of my mind.
Diana looked at me. "Are you sure, Lena?" She asked worriedly.
"Y-Yes, S-Sorry about t-that. I-I'm just g-going t-to head to m-my room n-now." I said and picked myself up and quickly hurried to my room. Tears slipped down my face as I went.
Once I got to my room I shut and locked the door before I threw myself onto the bed and cried. I didn't know what to do. Lie, lie, and lie some more, that's all I ever do! "Princess, you okay in there?" I heard Zach's voice.
I have had enough. I walked to the bedroom door and swung it open revealing Zach standing there. Tears still fell down my face as I spoke. "No! I'm not fucking okay and stop calling me princess, it's what—nevermind." I said and pushed him out of the way and quickly made my way outside.
I found myself outside to where their pool was. I slipped my shoes off and dipped my feet into the water. I tried clearing my thoughts in every way possible. I hated my life like this. Why had I gotten to be punished while everyone else got to live a perfect life?
Lost in my thoughts I didn't hear my brother come outside. Turning I saw him with a wicked grin on his face. "Nice show today, sis. Really impressive. Well, since dad isn't here to punish you, I get to take care of that job." I blinked trying to understand what he was about to do, which caught me by surprise when I was pushed into the pool, the deep end of the pool.
Once I fell into the pool I didn't know what to do. I panicked and tried to get back to the surface. Knowing how to swim would be important right now, but knowing Mack, he is most likely enjoying me struggling to breathe, struggling to get out.
"What the fuck happened?" I heard a voice say. I splashed around with all of my might as I tried to get out. Before I could hear a response someone dived into the water.
I didn't get a chance to see who it was because everything went black.
Darkness was all I saw

Hey, guys, so this is my first authors note on this story and I thought I'd chat with you guys for a moment. So as you guys may know, this story is in the Wattys2017! I'm super happy about that! Also, I know this chapter is short, one of the shortest ones I've written, but don't worry, the next chapter is pretty long and so will the chapters after it, I know cause I've already written them.
Anyway, lately I haven't had to motivation to write, it's been about two weeks since I last wrote a chapter for this story, I think, and that's a long time. Sorry about that. I plan on start writing again and I guess I just need a little break or something, I mean doesn't everyone need a break every now and then.
Don't worry, I still plan on writing for y'all and still upload chapters, it's just it seems I've taken an unexpected break on writing, but don't worry once again I'll get in the mood to write again, which should be pretty soon.
Please vote and comment and don't forget to tell this story to your friends! You can find me:
