I can't remember if it was hours, days, weeks, or months before I woke up. All I know is that my entire body hurts. I was numb to the core, no feeling whatsoever. I tried healing myself, which worked to some limit but then it gave out. I was overworking my system which would explain my fever.
I fluttered my eyelids open to see the ceiling of the lab. I was hoping that would all be a dream, but the sight of Chase next to me, almost in tears, confirmed it wasn't. I made a move to reach out, but a searing pain in my back stopped me. I hissed, my muscles tense. Chase's gaze flipped to me, a sharp intake of breath heard.
"Annabelle! You're okay!" He wrapped his arms around my frame. I yelped and he furiously began apologizing.
"Chase, it's okay!" I shut him up. "Just help me sit up." He carefully placed his arms under me and helped me lean against a wall. Mr. Davenport and Bree ran in, deep in conversation. I cleared my throat earning myself two more confused looks.
"You're awake!" Bree ran over, but didn't hug me. For once, she seemed smarter than Chase.
"Do I even want to know what happened?" I crossed my arms. My whole body was sore and who knows what happened that it isn't worse.
30 minutes later, I got the whole low-down. To sum it up, they gave me pain meds and my body healed itself. Mr. Davenport said I would be sore for a couple of days so Chase took that as waiting on me, hand and foot. Such a bummer Grandma Rose isn't here because we could be twins. (Prank You Very Much) Tasha gave me the full explanation on that story. It sounded pretty funny to be honest.
I was lying on the couch with Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo watching Endless Love. This was the cutest movie I've ever seen. Chase was holding my hand, rubbing his thumb across it every now and then. I was slowly drifting asleep. One thing I never will learn is how to stay awake with my friends. If I'm home, I'm a night-owl, but other than that, I'm out by 9:00.
Every time someone would laugh, I would jerk awake. I felt awful for falling asleep at their house for the third time in two hours. I had no manners, excuse me for just being lazy. I'm just being myself though.
"You tired?" Chase whispered in my ear. I nodded, my eyes half closed. I was suddenly awake when he picked me up and carried me into the guest bedroom which they had began to call "my room". I giggled quietly as Chase leaned down and kissed my nose.
He opened the door with his foot before setting me on the bed. I rolled under the blankets, too tired to change clothes. Chase shook his head at me before flicking the light off.
"Night Annabelle." He whispered. I barely made out a response before I fell asleep.
I was rudely awaken by my alarm clock going off. I probably wasn't supposed to go to school, but I am. I quickly got dressed, wearing a pair of Bree's boots she let me borrow, before walking down to get breakfast. Adam and Leo were in a fight about who would eat the last of the Lucky Charms.
"No Adam! You already ate the box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch! These...are...mine!" Leo grunted and pulled the box from Adam's grasp. Unfortunately, he chose to fight the strongest person in the world and the box ripped in half.
"Well great job Leo! My breakfast is ruined!" Adam huffed. He stood there, looking at the ceral before reaching in the fridge to grab the milk. When he found it, he opened it and poured it all over the floor and began eating the cereal. Leo and I just stood there, slightly grossed out.
